Re: Retro Video Game BOOK recommendations?

Amazon are advertising a new book on the Commodore Amiga titled The Future Was Here . The author does not appear to have published anything previously (that Amazon can find) and I cannot find any 3rd party references to the book (beyond links to the Amazon page). Does anyone know anything about it?...

Re: From the forum Issue 93

Secret of Mana for sure. Still one of my favourite games on any platform. I used to spend hours just listening to the music.

"Eat Electric Death" already! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlqTpaFbhxY :D :D :D The next person who complains the Jaguar isn't "retro" needs to be pointed straight at that cheesetastic video! I've been thinking about control methods. You said before you'd like the claw to follow your finger, rath...

Re: A retro iPhone game I made

Just bought it, will give it a play in a bit, will have to x2 size it on my iPad though. Thanks sscott, I look forward to hearing what you make of it. It does work quite nicely at x2 on iPad as it uses the retina specific graphics in that case. I did toy with the idea of making it universal so it f...

Re: A retro iPhone game I made

This game keeps on going from strength to strength. I really like the sound of those updates - especially the addition of the Wall Repair power-up and the mysterious sounding Power Pins. Definitely looking forward to seeing them in action when I have the time later. Great stuff, raiz! :D Thanks Dre...

Great review davidhass3lh0ff. Props for covering the background and origin of the game and it's relation to similar puzzlers. Will check out some of your other reviews :)

Version 1.1.4 has just gone live in the App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wall-warrior/id427875596?ls=1&mt=8 This is quite a big update: 2 new levels with 18 new stages. Wall Repair powerup. Teleportals. Power Pins. Wavy paths for baths and walls. Various bug-fixes As always, here are some p...

Re: I've done a vlog type thing, what do you think?

Imho, you'd be better to have a clear idea of what you're going to talk about beforehand. It does ramble on a bit and off on a few tangents which makes it kinda hard to follow. Good luck for future episodes (and hopefully sunnier days).

Re: New US law could get you in censored for game in play vi

I can't see this being a real issue. Most online gameplay videos are positive rather than "footage of a game that really sucks". Any company actually trying to punish or prosecute on these grounds would likely witness a considerable consumer backlash.

Interesting article though :)

I doubt it will appear on Android I'm afraid. It would pretty much mean re-coding it from scratch for that platform. I might make a version that runs in a web-browser in future though.

Re: A retro iPhone game I made

Downloaded latest version, 1.1.3. I've had a quick go and the level select problem is fixed. 2-1 unlocked and has stayed unlocked. Excellent! Great news Mire Mare. I've fixed the issue you mentioned about not being able to collect all the coins on that one level. Gravity Pins are also in place now ...

Re: A retro iPhone game I made

Sod making yet another platform game on iOS! What iOS desperately needs, imho, is a version of Tempest with decent controls which work properly on an iPhone/iPod touch. None of that slider crap that blights the version of the game on the recently released Atari collection - when not played on iPad....
