Re: Horizontal vs Vertical Shooters

Voted for either as I like both. In the 90s it would be horizontal, but lately I think there have been better vertical

Thanks for uploading these, bring back memories (even though I've never actually been to that particular arcade)

Re: The original Super Mario Bros for the NES

Yeah it was the opposite here, we were all too busy playing on the Spectrum and C64 to take any notice of an ugly grey box gathering dust in Boots with its overpriced games  I was just talking about that last week, I was pretty sure the NES was exclusive to Boots at some point in the late ...

I do, but as a kid my favourite game cover was for Barbarian and that wasn't hand drawn.

Re: what was the first game you played

Think it was either Phoenix or something very similar to Sega's Turbo on a caravan site.

At home it was Crazy Chase on the Philips Videopac.

Crazy Chase on the Philips Videopac.
Think it still is at my parent's home somewhere.

Re: SEGA 32X LCD

Do you have another TV you could test it on? Preferably a CRT. The 32X is notoiously fickle and there's a common fix you need to do every so often so I would guess it's the 32X at fault here.

And yeah a Scart lead will help loads either way

Re: How much should I look to spend on a copy of Snatcher?

There aren't that many options other than eBay I'm afraid and then it probably won't be far off £100. If you don't mind paying that much for a game at least you will get that back should you choose to sell it later.

Re: The Nes PC Mod

Brilliant work! Did you know you can get NES to USB adaptors fairly cheap so you can use an original controller (although the one you have is pretty close). Also some electronics students managed to get an N64 contoller to work as a PS/2 mouse, it looked a bit complex but maybe with your electrical ...

Would you be able to use an Action Replay cart with a Jap system? I don't see why not. I'm not 100% sure what happens when PAL 50Hz games get used on a 60hz Japanese system though since I've never tried it. To be honest, the AR cart never seemed like a full solution to me due to the 50/60Hz issue s...
