Re: World of Spectrum down?
The hosts were contacted with 'accusations' so had to take the site offline. Nothing dodgy was found so it went live again. Think, as said, that's been denied. It doesn't work that way, anyway - nobody pulls a website on the basis of unfounded accusations. When I got my first PC, I joined WoS and j...

Re: World of Spectrum down?
Lee kept the site down for a bit longer to fix some issues. There'e generally only one issue that would result in a website owner taking his site down - and that's the fear of legal action. For example - I recall reading a post on WoS from your friend offering to sell the entire Spectrum catalogue ...

Re: Discuss 136: What do you consider "retro"?
I'm a bit late to this party, but what the hell.
In my view retro, in computer gaming terms, defines the era of arcade machines and home computers.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 128
The Victorians deemed pink to be very much a boys colour. That aside, congratulations for starting a ruck on the feedback thread before the mag even hit our doormats. You have exceeded yourselves there, gentlemen.
Back on topic... Thoroughly enjoyed the new homebrew section. Good work, Mr Kelk et al.

Re: I demand....
My friend had the ZX81 and I had the Vic 20. I can't remember anyone else I know having any other computers at the time. Absolutely. It's disappointing that the Vic (which I picked as my first computer mainly because it was compatible with the PETs we used at school) continues to be overlooked, esp...

Re: Why do you buy Retro Gamer?
Habit. I picked up Issue 69/70 in Smiths and have since subscribed and picked up most of the back issues. Collectable. They look very nice on the shelf. Nostalgia. Everyone likes to be taken back to a time when they didn't have to worry about sh*t like mortgages and taxes. And bought magazines. Pri...

I don't usually comment on front covers (or much at all, as my post count illustrates) but this month's is awesome.
Kudos to those responsible.

Re: What would you like to see in the Mag?
It's always surprised me that the current burgeoning retro scene receives such little coverage. A few diary events, the odd retro fair report and a bit of homebrew doesn't, in my view, truly represent what's going on out there. There's huge potential to expand this; the obvious pitfall being more co...

Re: Worst Games Ever Made
10-yard fight is brilliant! One MAME game I keep returning to. And I HATE American football. 10-yard fight is tons of fun though, never gets old for me. This used to be a little favourite of mine. BITD there was one arcade in our local strip that had this, tucked away in a dark corner. I used to pl...
