Re: Classic games that were not so great!
When I did the first post I knew I would meet negative response, and I did. But it then seemed to change, and I was surprised how many people stepped up to say the unspeakable ... that not all classics are classic. We see some of these games thrown at us in repackaged compilations for the latest con...

Re: Overinflated, listing banditry
Sad to say, but the golden days of 'give me a fiver and you can have the lot' are gone. It has gone to the point of ridiculousness, when every seller seems to think that they have the God given right to charge an arm and a leg for anything that is classed as 'retro'. I am so sick of the word 'rare' ...

Re: Wheres the spark gone?
Xbox live seem to have a lot of the crazier game types these days. A few hundred points will get you the kinda stuff that will have you scratching your head as to the plot ( or lack of ) I reckon these games are only sold on Xbox live because they would not make it as mainstream games today. Like mo...

Just reading over this again.

Re: Speccy TV game
I had thought that maybe it was a design problem.
I mean to emulate it properly you would also need to emulate the keys that were mostly used by the players.
Nobody ever seemed to use a joystick, and most of us became much faster using the keys anyway.

Speccy TV game
Sorry if this was already said. I have noticed that there are now hundreds of plug and play TV games covering just about every format that was popular. The C64 TV game was a huge seller. So why is there nothing for the beloved ZX Spectrum ?. But what to have built in ? Manic Miner JSW Knight Lore Je...

I've mentioned it before, but Micronaut One on the spectrum is a stunner. It got pretty good reviews at the time, but doesnt have anything like the reputation it deserves. Its very original in some respects, and probably has the most impressive vector/poly graphics of any 8 bit game. Pete Cooke was...

Zool 2 The first game was quite dreadful but Zool 2 got everything right. It's an incredibly playable and skillful platformer (which I recently re-discovered), by far the best the Amiga ever saw where all out arcade gameplay is concerned. It's criminally overlooked yet it stands head & shoulders ab...
