Re: Game Expo East Kent (GEEK) 2012 - Feb 15-19 - Margate
I'm at my mum & dad's in Folkestone the weekend before this. If I can wangle a coupla days off work I will do then surprise my other half with a scenic trip home via Margate... "Ooh blimey look there's a retro gaming shin-dig, what are the chances?"

Re: Best Blu Ray's based on picture quality
Thanks matey. Yes he is a smasher. Main reason we had him was there'd be somebody to inherrit my Amstrad and Amiga collections

Re: The i Love Old Gaming Magazines - chat thread
I enjoy retro gaming mags' reviews of games more than actually playing them if I'm honest. I was the kiss of death for CPC Computing which died one issue after I started buying it so I swapped to Amstrad Action for a coupla years until I got my first Amiga and had Amiga Format, Power and Shopper res...

Re: Homebrew Gaming weekend needs you
I'd dust off my old AS level computer studies project, a test match cricket scoring prog in Amstrad BASIC, but I doubt it's the sort of thing you're looking for
Seriously though I wish I lived nearer so I could come along. I learned enough at school to know I wasn't very good programming.

Re: Best Blu Ray's based on picture quality
There's nothing wrong with a bit of grain :) But if you are totally anti- then Toy Story 3 is stunning (obviously). The best PQ I've seen ever was Galaxy Quest off DVHS on my first plasma, a series 6 Panasonic. If you have a media player I have a 15min(ish) "Ideas For Life" Jap promo loop that looks...

Put me down for one of those. And a Turin Shroud tea cosy if you diversify into associated tea-making paraphernalia.

Re: Mame on Google chrome
Exactly the same where I work, my (huge multinational) has dozens of web aps all needing to be revalidated before they can upgrade to IE8 at the end of the year. With so many users needing so many different combinations of software it is a nightmare to change anything ever. And the problem isn't lim...

Wanted: 8 bit tapes - Amstrad, Speccy, Commodore
This summer's project is demolishing the ramshackle shed at the bottom of my garden and building in its place a retro gaming den. I plan to display my 8 bit tapes collection to cover at least one but probably two of its walls, I have three or four hundred already but will definitely need more to do ...

Reasonable price for an A1200 = priceless
Seriously though - what does eBay reckon? But don't bid on anything Amiga related in Bucks, that's all mine

Re: Charity Shops
...Small world! I'll race you round them tomorrow morning :D My best ever charity shop find was a couple of years ago in South Harrow, before we moved to Aylesbury. I used to collect pre cert videotapes and would trawl charity shops rarely with any sucess. Anyhoo one day I FINALLY found a tape worth...

Re: MASK crusaders! :o)
Fellas thanks for the replies. Yes I was joking about writing to Mr and Mrs Lottery but only because I don't know their address ;) I was obsessed by MASK as a littlun, only ended when Red Dwarf started and I got obsessed by that instead haha. I haven't played via emulator yet but will get DLing now....

MASK crusaders! :o)
My first new topic! Sorry it's a begging letter (hope I have more luck than when I wrote to the £57m lottery couple). Does anybody have a copy of M.A.S.K. on any 8 bit format? I haven't played it for years, I absolutely loved the cartoon but couldn't get into the game at all, I'd love to have a go a...
