Re: Yesterzine - The Literal Magazine Show
I'm a big fan of Yesterzine and its offshoots, particularly trying to correctly anticipate where the mum joke is coming in each edition. Long may you continue!

Re: Issue 212
My subscriber copy arrived today. Honestly, I'm happy enough as a week isn't any big deal as long as it's not going to be a regular thing.
EDIT: I'm in Northern Ireland, FWIW

Gonzo - very cool, I joined up to the FB group today.
Charco - damn, that's shocking. Since we're getting it so much earlier I have no idea what the delay is, not that I know anything about magazine distribution.

Re: From The Forum Issue 211
Ooh... Is it CASTLEVANIA IV? Is it ZOMBIES ATE MY NEIGHBOURS? Is it SHADOWRUN? You know what? It's FINAL FANTASY VI (or III, at the time of its Western localisation).
Yes, I have no love for Mario.

Re: Mag availability in Northern Ireland
Only chiming in to say I'm a Belfast fella too, and it's good to see a few others on here. It'd be amazing to see a day when, pandemics behind us, we could have some sort of retro gaming event here. On-topic, it's an obvious call and might sound like brown-nosing, but subscribing has been a joy for ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 209
Noticed some amusing (unintentional?) vulgarity when I set my copy of the mag down upside-down. Check out the legs on the pink dragon thing at the top-left.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 201
Really kinda disgusted at the Nintendo pamphlet; that thing should have been clearly marked as the bare-faced paid advertising that it is. Otherwise loved the issue.

Re: Food/Drink from the past

It may have been...wait, wait... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5qDKaeQ9GI I was always curious about them but sadly don't remember ever actually...

Re: Improving the magazine
I'd just like to mention that, when I said "Mario has been done to death at this point" I wasn't just talking about RG...and he's now been done to death in this topic too.

Re: Improving the magazine
I agree; Mario has been done to death and I, for one, have zero interest in reading any more about the franchise.

A couple of noobish MAME questions
Firstly, a large number of the games I have are unplayable, or rathe MAME won't recognise them. Running an audit throws up a ton of errors with a lot of the ROMs but they're all the standard currently available versions of those titles and many of them ran with no trouble on a previous version of MA...

Re: Food/Drink from the past
Zoom!s were fantastic - just the nicest ice lolly ever; I remember coercing my mum to buy them by the box whenever I saw them. Sadly, like so many other tasty things they were suddenly 'new and improved', ie greatly inferior. Unsurprisingly they seemed to disappear soon after that... I'd kill for on...
