Re: Revival 2014 Event Feedback: did you go, what did you th

The pints of beer wasnt cheap lol but all the computers, consoles, and coin op machines were free play. I...

Re: School computers

Wow cool I didnt realise paintbrush was also available in the early days for DOS! Thats awesome! Kind of like windows 3.0 paintbrush but a bit more primitive, in a cool way :) Bet it must have been cool to use paintbrush on an old rm nimbus pc186!

Re: Amiga 1200 fans!

My dad's A1200 is currently sitting in my bedroom. In fact it's right next to where I'm sitting now :D It's all connected up to my 32" LCD HD telly, ready to play. It's just a bog standard A1200, but it has 4MB fast RAM and a 4GB CF hard drive with lots of WHDload games on it! :D Nice! Yeah mines g...

Hey guys, anyone been messing or upgrading their old Amiga 1200? I put in an 8megabyte card with 68040 which has made it faster quite a bit, and a 2gig laptop hard drive, so now Workbench 3.1 is installed on the hdd instead of booting from floppy. Great Stuff, was wondering if anyone has been messin...

Re: Retro TV that nobody seems to remember...

Aaah! Yeah quite a few programs I can remember, such as Every Second Counts with Paul Daniels, Crackerjack etc. Does anyone remember the childrens tv cartoon that Featured Hulk Hogan, and on the intro they was a mix of cartoon and live sections of Hulk Hogan. Rock n wresting or something like that. ...

Lol i dont know if anyone remembers Caxton, Blue paper and Red border, and loads of different fonts. I used to like the egyptian font and the medieval style font! Wicked ! I think Caxton was SPA software, like Paintspa. If anyone ever finds a copy of caxton on the net or has it, and can give me it i...

Re: School computers

I wonder if the game im desperately trying to find also originated on the BBC micro. Treasure hunt. It was amazing, a big red castle was drawn, and you got three arrows, which represented arrows, if you went right you found yourself at a small hut, and you had to do something with the jam trade it ...

Re: School computers

I remember 'Pod' on our infant-school computers which I believe were BBC Micros ('Pod can.....', ) - a few of us did, I'm ashamed to say, derive some pleasure from making the poor little f*cker bawl his eyes out. My mum worked at the school (still does today) and so I also remember that we so...

Re: My old CPC 6128 with green monitor.

Have you had a look inside, sometimes on the Spectrum +3 disc drives, the belt snaps or slips off, i would imagine inside the AMSTRAD cpc 128, it has a similar design disc drive.

Re: School computers

Success! I finally got the RM-NIMBUS PC186 to work, using M.E.S.S. A few graphic hitches, and the mouse doesnt work propelery, but its definetely a start, and a milestone! I need to figure out how to make basic operating system disks for the machine so I can copy other programs to it, and create mor...

Re: School computers

On the subject of RM nimbus emulation via M.E.S.S. i am talking about the PC-186 variety (the intel). I found all the system roms, and have the blue welcome screen. Unfortunately the only welcome disk (the one with worm and train), is in FLP format, which MESS doesnt support. I am trying to figure o...
