Re: Retro Gaming. How far Back is your cut off point.

As ever on here, "modern gaming" is given a stupidly narrow interpretation that seems to only encompasses the major triple-A franchises. Gaming on the Xbox 360 also includes XBLA and XBLIG where variety, experimentation and even innovation are there in significant quantities. The indie scene as a w...

Re: Retro Gaming. How far Back is your cut off point.

I hadn't really thought about it before, but it's probably Master System and NES era. While I did have a Spectrum +3, I don't tend to play anything like the Spectrum or C64 games and earlier.

Re: Anyone going to Blackpool event at end of April?

I was in two minds as to whether to write this because I didn't want to seem as one of those people who like to complain about everything. So please bear that in mind :) I went on the Sunday, and the things I was looking forward to the most weren't great. The VR room only had an Oculus in it, not th...

Agreed! There were some puzzles which made me want to scream in Void mode :D

Re: Your top 5 indie games

All on Steam on PC in no particular order: Nihilumbra (plus iOS, Vita and Android) Atmospheric platform puzzler with an interesting play mechanic. It's on iOS, Vita, WiiU and Android too but I'm not sure how well the control system would work on anything other than a keyboard and mouse. Very dark co...

Kanye West - Turbografx 16

Anyone wanting to sell their Turbografx 16 might want to hold off until this is released; they might get a bit more for it :D

Re: Vega + - Kickstarter

Well, the goal has been reached! It's not for me as I'm not a massive speccy fan and I have a modded PSP, but I can see why people would like it; I know it's a render at the moment, but it looks infinitely better than the original Vega which looks like something you'd pick up in a pound shop. There'...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

...and we did! I just want to add to the compliments in this thread; it's truly amazing. Even when it's busy, there are still plenty of machines to play on. I got to play on many of the machines that I'd previously not been able to at the Replay events, and because there are so many machines at Arca...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

Really? we've changed the logo so it has a wider range than just representing 'Retro' games, we're moving the club into much wider areas this year including VR/PC LAN and much more including supporting the fighting and other communities - this has been on the cards for many months and all the membe...

Re: Europe's largest arcade - in Bury !

A couple of other people I know went for the first time on NYE and they loved it too. I've been meaning to go for ages, they've asked me a few times, so I'm hoping to go sometime in the next month or two :)

Re: Fave pinball games?

For years, Pinball Fantasies on the Amiga was my absolute ultimate favourite. However, in the past couple of years, Pinball FX2 has outshone that. Loads of tables you can download. The Plants vs Zombies one is fun :) For Pinball FX2, what really clinches it for me is the fact that you can set the sc...
