Re: The Last of Us

I just completed this and i would award it a 10, its not perfect but when i consider all games i've played that are 9's this one is better than them all.

Re: Martial art movies

Awesome thread, good to see there's still plenty of HK film fans out there. I'll just throw in another few films that i didn't see, both from Donnie Yen. Mismatched Couples & Flash Point. Mismatched Couples is one of Donnies earlier efforts and is a bit quirky but if you like 80's Hk Cinema its well...

Re: megadrive/genesis compatability

The megadrive has 4 jumpers, 2 are used per region. Megadrives have either 50hz/eng (Europe/hongkong) 60hz/eng (america/canada) and 60hz/jap (japan) I'm not sure what Korea and some other places received but it would have to be a combination of the above settings. They were sometimes used for region...

Re: FM Towns Marty

I would be very surprised if your t.v doesn't support s-video through your AV2 scart imput.
You'll just need an s-video to scart adapter which you can get on ebay for very little.
Flick through your Av channels and see if an "S" appears and that should confirm that s-video is supported.

Re: Emulation

My perspective is this, if i buy a megadrive, snes game etc from ebay how much money does the original developer receive? The answer of course is nothing, if i download a rom how much do they receive? See my point. I really think its time the developers just let these older games go into the public d...

Re: Commodore 16

Hi there C16 fans, i was considering buying a system and i was wondering if its worth buying the Plus4 rather than the standard C16?
Is there any benefit games wise or other?
Thanks.

Re: C64 PSU

That looks a pretty nifty bit of kit. I can certainly see me getting one of those. Although, there's still a part of me that likes the idea of loading games from tape, listening to the squeaking and hoping it works this time, like I used to as a kid. Give it a few weeks though and I'll probably be ...

Re: AC adaptor question.

My advice would be to buy a good DC multivoltage adapter. I bought one last year and run my Megadrive, US Snes, PC engine, PSone and my other DC systems without issue. As long as the power supply is powerful enough all you have to do is have the correct tip and match the polarity. Much better and sa...

Re: C64 PSU

Aye, it does seem that it's the power supply (no readings at all off the plug) so I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and replace the power supply. The cost of it though,I'm tempted to keep the one I have as a spare and just buy another full unit. The cost of a tape deck and power supply is about the...

Re: C64 PSU

use it but........whack it on a circuit breaker/trip plug thingy.........worst that will happen is it trips the plug, shouldnt damage the C64 if all goes well.... so, light touch paper, stand well back and let us all know what happens....if we dont hear from you, well.... :? There's also a fuse ins...

I second this. Works a treat.
Another recommendation, i've removed 20 year old tape with this method.

Hmmm, tough call.
I'm going with the Gold Level (The Treasury), i love all the transparences and sound effects.
The Library would be a close 2nd.

Re: Super Castlevania - Best 2D Castlevania

Here's my top 4, these are the only games from the series i've completed so i wouldn't call it a definitive list.
I would say though that they're all great games.
CV3 is next on my "to play" list.

1.SOTN
2.CV4
3.CV R.O.B
4.CV1
