Re: Who gets collection urges?

I get these urges every few weeks. ebay does help - but it's a bit cold. I love going to bootsales and charity shops and getting the a suprise find - I even went through a neigbours rubbish once because they had thrown all there master system games in the bin! If I walk away from a bootsale or secon...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Today I was playing ASCII character based games on my Amstrad PPC640 & PPC512 using the build in LCD screens.

Some games playable - some not!

Re: Games for Amstrad PPC 640?

Hi There, I recently (today) picked up a PPC 640 & PPC512. I have found a number of games which work with the build in screen here: http://www.dosgames.com/ There is a 3-d monster maze clone called 3-Demon which only takes up 50K of disk space. You will have to look around for other text based games...

Re: Which 8 Bit Computer Played Games from Cartridges?

Can only go on what I've seen - but there are a few out there which could play cartridges: The Tandy Coco Dragon 32 /64 (an improved Welsh version of the coco) Spectrum 16/48K (via the interface 1 or 2) Commodore 64 The Amstrad Plus machines (464 and 6128 could play GX4000 carts) MSX Computers all h...

Re: "COLLECTION" threads...

It's true you dont meet many people who are into tapes these days. Unless you can play it instantly who has the time as most people who remember these games now are grown up with a wife, kids and a mortgage! I do love tapes though - and I especially love the BIG cases you would sometimes get - only ...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Got my hands on 3 Spectrum ROM Cartridges and a lot of spectrum cassette games in a job lot. ROM's are in perfect condition with boxes, instructions and red skirts. I think they are the games that came with the Interface 1? Horace & The Spiders Planetoids Pssst Anyone else got some ROM carts for the...

Barcode Battler!

Just won me a Barcode Battler on ebay! Do you remember those! I had one when I was in my early teens. I took it to school and tried to convince my friends to get one.... They didn't! I remember I looked for ages for a certain Corn Flakes barcode which gave you unlimited strength! It was to be my sec...

3D opening any doors?

Now that this new "Real 3D" is an established technology in cinema's do you think it opens new possibilities for the Arcade market? 3D LCD displays are very very expensive to own but would be great for a unique arcade playing experience which cannot be had at home. Which is what arcades were for in ...

Re: PC Components - Retro or Veto?

There are certain PC components that seem very retro now.

Like the original sound blaster cards.

Re: Retro Gamer Now On IPhone

I don't like the idea of paying for something that I cannot keep. Paying for digital downloads always leaves me feeling a little ripped off. Any chance that regular subscribers to the magazine (like myself) could also get the digital versions for free (as we have already paid for the content once?)

Re: What is retro?

... and NES, MD, SNES, C64 etc wouldn't be retro as they're commercially available in the here and now. Yes but I cannot go into my local Currys and buy one. Thanks to the internet it is now possible to sell anything to people who are activly seeking your types of product. But that is a far ...
