Re: If You Could Choose One System
PS2 because it plays PS1 and that is allowed because it's a standard feature. :D Except that the OP specifically asked for an 8 or 16 bit system, so it isn't allowed. :P If we're going to open it up to any system from any period in time, I'll go with a modern desktop PC that can emulate both the PS...

Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?
I had no interest in VR last Tuesday. I played it Wednesday and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.
It's exceptional.
It made me feel like I was a kid again. A true sense of wonder. The games are very good, enhanced immeasurably but the total sense of immersion.

Re: selling up
I've pretty much always been very selective about the games I own. I basically stick to SNES, PS1 and PS2 with a smattering of other mainly Nintendo stuff. I did buy a MD last year and barely used it so sold it. I also have a DC that I might get rid of but I absolutely adore about 3 of the games. Th...

Re: Will Nintendo ever regain top spot?
It's not so much about maturity but more about balance. They simply don't have that. Too many of their Wii U games all look similar. All have the same bright colours and style. It is worse now they have little else to fall back on. No 1080, Wave Race, F-Zero, Metroid and until recently, Star Fox. To...

Re: From The Forum issue 156 - Game Boy Advance
My 'memories' of the GBA are poor due to the lack of screen lighting. I only finished Metroid on it before I decided enough was enough. Then the SP happened and although it was better it was still weak. Then about 6 years ago I had a craving to play Link's Awakening and I needed another GB. I then d...

I see the standard of this forum doesn't dare to raise itself past the usual schoolboy threads.

Re: Memories of the first Ridge Racer (PS1)
Ridge Racer is pure gaming nirvana. It is ultimate in skill based arcade gaming. Easy to pick up and hard to master, as many of the comments in here prove. Floaty? Go and pick the yellow car and feel how heavy that turns. The game is geared for twitch style racing for either when you are weaving thr...
