Re: The most disappointed you've ever been in a release

Battlefield 3 on the Xbox360 - I rarely pre-ordered back then and I was so into BC2 - I was sure this would be awesome, but honestly, I was gutted. I just didn't find it fun. I tried to keep going with it but was always left frustrated. Probably not a terrible game really, and my expectations were p...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Shame about the Switch version of Bloodstained not running the best, I was really looking forwared to that, I may still get it later down the line when it's been patched. Anyway, got my copy of Super Mario Maker 2 plus goodies today. Had a small panic when i recieved the standard copy of the game w...

Re: Turbografx Mini/PC Engine Mini

Really interested in this - During the 80s, I used to look on this with dreamy eyes in C&VG - I wanted a PC engine and Selina Scott.

I still want a PC Engine.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I thought it was an excellent Direct - sure, could have had other stuff in it - that will always be the case. The only downer for me was the lack of a Christmas big hitter - I was hoping for Animal Crossing, so my daughter and I could have some fun with that over the festive period. September looks...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

$40 is the slimmed down base price. That just gets you the headset and gun. $80 gets you the full set. An extra $40 for a few sheets more cardboard! That's a lot of money to throw at a kid on a disposable toy. Is it really?? Wow - I hadn't seen that. I wonder what the sales are like for Labo?

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

I like the concept, but personally I think it's way overpriced. They could be offering the cardboard at a much lower price point with a download. The target market doesn't care about cartridges, and the destructive nature of the cardboard means it can't be a long term object that holds the value th...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Google cardboard = £1 Switch equivalent = $40  In fairness, you do get games, via a game cartridge. I keep seeing people posting "its XXX for just cardboard" - which it isn't. Of course, whether its value to you personally, is another matter - especially given a target market of @10 year olds.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I flicked my Xbox360 on last night for the first time in..... ummmmm... 6 months. Decided to play Bad Company 2, my favourite game of all time. Games of 2 aside. Seems BC2 is finally dead. Quite sad really, as I had such a great time on that game. I live in hope that we will see a HD remaster at som...

Re: What are you currently playing?

BFV - I love the series - this is good, however they shouldn't have released it until it was finished.

As my mate put it, by the time its actually finished, I'll have lost interest.

Fair point.

Re: Paul Woakes tribute

As a result of the C&VG preview, I used to visit my local computer shop, The Micro Shop, and ask when it was coming out... and I mean every week. Eventually, I was offered a Saturday job there and had some amazing times during the 8 bit heyday, including bunking off school to work there. Without Pau...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Yes that's my thinking. Big cards will be cheaper by the time I need one.

Great thanks for eshop recommendations.

Looking forward to seeing what the switch can do.
