Re: What are you currently playing?

New Soulcalibur VI DLC is out so I've gone back to that. Some nice new customisation bits to mess about with and - of course - the return of the mighty Hwang Sun-Keong. Not a big fan of his new look or voice though, so I'll have to sort that out in the customiser.

Re: You Are The Retro Detective

Thats more Youtubers for you, buy NEW THING, review it quickly to get the view count, put it on shelf, that type of review urks me, it urks me plenty, been looking at some Hyperkin N64 controller reviews and the first one is somebody showing himself more than the bloody pad and not going into detai...

Re: What are you currently playing?

^^^ Yep, PS2. I was under the impresion that Director's Cut hasn't been re-released, or used as the base for the HD version. Seems to go for about £40-£50 on ebay too and I guess that's why. The way those things spray acid is annoying. Also saw Pyramid Head for the first time. I get the feeling that...

Re: Where are they now?

Definitely miss the days when most of the subforums here were updating so quickly that it was impossible to keep up but times change and people move on. All forums are pretty much dead. I used to post on Retro Collect and that's dead as well. Tried some new forums but just couldn't find the enthusia...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Started Silent Hill 2 Director's Cut. Already, I can see why DPrinny's advice of just running away from enemies was a good shout. The freaky mutated human things take soooooo long to kill with the wood plank. Currently in the apartments and it's bloody atmospheric alright, especially before picking ...

Re: Amiga Mini

Don't know much about the system (closest I came was briefly owning a CD32 that I couldn't be bothered to use) but I've always fancied trying Apidya and Gloom.

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Silent Hill (PS1). Had to make do without the Hunting Rifle as I wanted to play without any cheats/guides and I completely forgot where to grab it. Good job the final boss is dead easy once you use the sideways run to avoid the lightning. Got the Good+ ending.

Re: Capcom mini arcade

Having all those SFII versions is such a waste of space too. Most SF and fighting game fans have their favourite version and stick to it. For me, it's Super Turbo - wouldn't bother going back to older editions. Its not every SF2 Missing Ultra, Grandmaster challenge and Hyper I do love me some Hyper...

Re: Capcom mini arcade

Looks pretty naff. How many of these things are they going to produce? Having all those SFII versions is such a waste of space too. Most SF and fighting game fans have their favourite version and stick to it. For me, it's Super Turbo - wouldn't bother going back to older editions. Maybe for casual/n...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Getting towards the end of PS1 Silent Hill (I think). As much as I have enjoyed replaying this, the enemies and battles are wearing me down now. The trip to and back from the lighthouse was terrible - can't really run away from those flying gits because there are too many ground-based enemies to run...

Re: The Handshake

It IS funny how everybody is so critical and avoiding of the handshake when they weren't before, when - as has been pointed out - other people's hands were probably crawling with germs. Loads of blokes don't wash their hands in the bogs (or do such a non-thorough job that their "washing" is irreleva...

Re: What are you currently playing?

More PS1 Silent Hill. Combat is still annoying but a guy at work reminded me that the melee weapons were actually OP in this game. The knife is crap but the pipe has proved excellent for putting down the dogs (once you get the timing right). Really getting back into it now. Afterwards, I will play S...

Re: Panasonic 3D0

Not that I've ever done it (with any console) but I tend to agree that iso loaders and related mods are the way to go. These old machines are going to break down eventually, especially the 90's era CD-based consoles. I used to just buy cheap console-only units and swap out drives, lasers etc. but th...

Re: Charity Shops

Got lucky in the charity massive pile of PS3 games Splatterhouse, all the nippon Ichi/Gust RPGs, Dead Space, Longest Day, Deadpool etc. Said to the girl how much and she said £1 each so I bought the lot about 30 PS1 games in all. She also held some PS1 games back for me like Track and Field. I’ve b...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Silent Hill (PS1). Haven't played this since the PS1 days and it's definitely hard to go back to crappy tank controls! Got owned by dogs and flying demon things fairly quickly. Still, it's been SO long since i played it, that the game is (almost) a fresh experience.
