I had to watch it on the xbox - seemingly the fire stick isn't compatible with it...

Re: Shooting Gallery Games Recommendations

I'm sure the Wii had a few shooting games (like Link's Crossbow Training), but I'm not sure they would be classed as shooting gallery games. They're definitely in the same vein and a Wii should cheap to pick up now. You'd probably also be able to homebrew it for most other shooting gallery games (Th...

Re: Where can I play the classic game Elite?

There is also "Elite : The New Kind" - which is an unofficial Windows conversion of Elite and available at this site - https://www.new-kind.com/

I believe the GBA version was based on this (and there was a Nintendo DS version as well based off the GBA version)

Re: N64 mini pix leaked

I'd love to see the N64 mini become a thing- but I don't see some of the best titles on the system making it over due to the Microsoft buyout of Rare.

Re: Recommended games for 3 or more simultaneous local players

The N64 was perfect for multiplayer games and has a wide selection of games.

On the SNES, Superbomberman with a multitap was epic. There were also a few games on the original Playstation that used a multitap as well.

Re: PlayStation 3 - Retro or not?

To me the PS3 is definitely not "retro". My own view on what is or not retro is that is MUST be at least 2 generations old with no support from the copyright holder. As such, at present the Wii is NOT Retro - at least until the end of the month when they shut down ALL the online services for the sys...

Re: Quake II for PSX sure is nice with the PS mouse

I knew about the C&C games and the Broken Sword games supporting the PS1 mouse, but I was - to be honest - surprised about the other games listed in the wikipedia page.

On a somewhat-related side-note, quite a few PS2 games support USB Keyboard and mouse - including FFVII : Dirge of Cerberus.

There's a good choice of N64 and SNES titles that are on my list - but sadly nobody plays me on them any more.

Re: N64 mini pix leaked

Sadly, it won't be complete without Goldeneye & Perfect Dark in my opinion - but I'm sure everyone remembers the problems that were raised with the various attempts to bring Goldeneye out on the various virtual console style shops. There would need to be all-new agreements put into place as I'm sure...

Indeed, I still have my issue one of both magazines.
I still have the cheat book that came with the first issue of Gamesmaster Magazine - it's well worn and stuck together with tape, admittedly, but I'm proud to say that I still have it.

Re: Backwards Compatability

I agree 100% with English Invader here - if I can't physically put in my old games into a later console of the same line, then it truly isn't backwards compatible. For example, the GBA is backwards compatible with the original Game Boy - the BG Micro isn't - and just because original Game Boy games ...

Re: Franchises and games you are surprised haven't returned

I loved the classic (as in original & Red Alert) style of C&C - but EA have recently announced that they're making it into a mobile game - and then responded to backlash by saying gamers don't know what they want... I am kind of surprised that Perfect Dark never got tried again after the xbox 360 tr...

Re: What did you prefer: cassettes or 5¼" floppies?

I always used tapes back in the day - but with the advent of the floppy disc, loading became much faster. Still, it's always good to be able to start loading a game, go and make a cuppa and take your time coming back to the game.
