Re: Phantasy Star (SEGA AGES - Switch)
Just been searching the forum for Phantasy Star*, and found this thread. Thought I'd chime in with what a fantastic port this was. Adding the onscreen map and the list of items and what they do massively improve an already excellent game. The "walk faster" option makes you wonder why you walked so s...

Re: Saboteur on Nintendo Switch
My only real bugbear is that it enforces use of the analogue stick for movement. Since there's no analogue control of the character, it seems odd they didn't also map to the dpad. I know I'd prefer that for digital movement, it isn't quite so woolly as the anaolgue stick when you want to nudge over...

Re: Saboteur on Nintendo Switch
Anyone managed to get the ID card in the cave in this? I fear my game is bugged as the card isn’t in the pool table in the canteen like it’s supposed to be.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 170
My opinion is, that PS2 isn't retro. Nor is the GC or Xbox. I think the Dreamcast is about as new as I'll accept as retro. The PS2 specifically is of no interest to me at all. I have one, but never had any love for it and only for very few of it's games - most of the best ones were on other consoles...

Re: From The Forum issue 171 - Best In The World
Oh! Either that, or: Highest score reached on Chuckie Egg for the ZX Spectrum, played with the TV off. I could manage a few levels by using the sound (because it came out of the beeper rather than the TV) and remembering the patterns and timings. Got pretty hard once the lifts were introduced on lev...

Re: From The Forum issue 171 - Best In The World
For a few years I was at the top of the high score table on the Space Harrier machine at Funland in Southport. I have no idea how because I was rubbish. But, if I summon up my past self, I reckon I'd be able to pull off this record: Highest score reached on Bubble Bobble on the Master System, withou...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 170
Anyway. As for the content, there's not a lot of stuff to interest me this month. Mega Drive modem games was good, Dizzy stuff too. I'm not a Final Fantasy fan but I don't mind it being in the magazine. Keystone Kapers is one of my favourite 2600 games though! Top three are Adventure, Frostbite and ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 170
I'm compelled to complain too. The articles with black backgrounds are unreadable. I don't know what happened with the printing in this issue but I hope it's the last time it occurs. Poor show. This has come up with readers on rllmuk as well . It looks like the plates have moved or something on the...

Re: From The Forum issue 162 - Retro Gaming Woes
The constant worry that one of my machines in the loft will have died in its sleep. Had a ZX81, a Speccy and a Game Gear all succumb to Death By Play Deprivation.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 141
If anything it was the A600 that was the disaster, not the A1200!
Shocked to see no mention of either Skateboard Construction System or Neighbours in the 720 "other skateboarding games" roundup. And no Grand Prix Simulator or Supercars in the Off Road section!
