Re: What other Retro magazines do you buy?

The only retro gaming mags I have kept aside from RG is the complete run of Mean Machines and some CVG from early/mid 80s (the only gaming mags I really read as a kid). I do have quite a large magazine collection from other things (including Wax magazine which was a great music mag) which are taking...

Yep that's the one. The Pandora looks interesting but probably has a lot of features I would never use!

Anyone got a Wiz - is it worth it?

I know this has been asked before but I am finally ready to re-enter the handheld market (last one I bought was the Game Gear when it first came out!) I was set to get a PSP mainly because of the aspect of emulation and there are some games that look pretty good - I thought the DS looked a bit too '...

Re: The Emulation Megathread

It's not that hard, but i've been soldering stuff for ages now, basically you need a 9 pin d-type connector (if you are doing just the one controller) and a 25 pin, a few diodes some wire and a soldering iron. All that can be bought for a few quid from Maplin, then you need the software driver and ...

I use two megadrive controllers too for the Megadrive emulation interfaced to one of four parallel ports i've installed, the other ports have a nes controller, a atari 2600 controller for Stella or sainT (which can be swapped for a cometition pro or quickshot joystick if i'm emulating the c64, Amst...

Re: From the forum question for issue 64

Aliens on the Spectrum, purely because it was the first FPS I ever owned and it scared the crap out of me to play it!

Aside from this I was always a fan of Virtua Cop (but not very good at it).

Ha yes I remember it being at Chessington World of Adventures and downstairs they had some Megadrive games such as Castle of Illusion and Moonwalker and then you got to go upstairs to try and get a high score on Sonic 1 - if you got over x amount you got entered into some official Sega championship ...

Thanks for the info. Am afraid I could not find too much about pre modded PS2s which is fairly recent (most stuff from 2005!) I have just had a look at the Swap Magic site, looks good with the slim PS2 cover instead of the slide tool. Has anyone tried this with the slim cover add on and does it work...

I guess retro is anything from looking back into your past and having fond memories of things that are not readily commercially available anymore.

This is going to be different for everyone and of course the age of the individual will play a significant part in this!

Playing Import Games on PS2 - Where to get chip?

Hi Guys Not sure if this is OK to post so apologies if not or in the wrong place. I am hoping to get my slimline PS2 chipped to play import games (am heading to Japan in the new year and want to stock up!) and do not really like the idea of the Swap Magic etc. Can anyone recommend somewhere in the L...
