CD32 launch & Commodore Shows in London
Now I am getting on a bit so my memory is not what it used to be but can anyone clarify the below? I used to frequent the old Commodore shows in Hammersmith back in the day and they were fantastic events. One of the last shows I attended had the launch of the CD32 iirc and I seem to recall that it w...

Re: Whatever became of Anirog?
Nearly 3 years on and still I don't recall seeing a feature on Anirog unless I missed it. I realise that with the 2 founders both passing away it makes it difficult but a feature on their games and maybe reaching out to the games authors who are probably in their 40's or 50's are still around would ...

Videogames Hardware Handbook 1960 - 1977
As per the title, is there any chance of a Videogames Hardware Handbook to cover the really early days of the Videogames Hardware? It would be great to peruse the chronology of Home and Arcade Hardware through this era. You could even cover the birth of the electronic handheld/desktop games in this ...

Atari Star Wars in the wild
Just returned from our annual family mini break to Hayling Island and whilst there I found a working Atari Star Wars at Funland. The attract screen was a bit wobbly but game play was fine and where most people were just walking past this machine to play Fruits, Grabbers or money waterfalls I sneezed...

Re: Atari Jaguar Recomendations
Atari Karts and World Tour Racing not too bad.
Tempest 2000 is awesome and although I tend to play Tempest X on the PS1 more is is only because the Jag is packed away. Jag version still my favourite.

Re: Official Feedback Issue 103
Just wanted to drop a line to say how much I enjoyed the Atari feature in the latest issue. There has been much written over the years about this console and it's impact to the home video game evolution and it would have been all too easy just to replicate. However, you made it your own and all the ...

Re: Where's the Laserdisc compilation that is so overdue ?
Thanks for your reply Fred83, so now I feel ancient and a geek with OCD, LOL  You are probably right but it is a shame as even though these games did not have the interaction of normal arcade games they were still a sight and experience to behold in the videogame evolution. I played Firefox on ...

Spiders of Mars on VIC-20
Anyone remember Spiders of Mars on the CBM VIC-20 ? I remember seeing it on cartridge by Audiogenic in the early 80's while I was still cutting my teeth on Andes Attack.... (what do you mean it wasn't Defender ? Imagination could fill in the gaps left by the technology gap in those days). Great litt...

Star Wars Arcade & The Arcade Game
I have two questions: - 1. Has anyone brought out a decent home version of Sega's Star Wars Arcade game from 1993 and Trilogy Arcade from 1998 ? Not sure the 32X effort counts as this didn't really have the guts to do it justice. What about in Japan ? 2. Apart from MAME, which does a pretty decent j...

Where's the Laserdisc compilation that is so overdue ?
I know that I can probably answer my own question here but hey ho worth a rant I guess. Probably something to do with 'supply and demand', 'quality of games', 'owners of IP' etc. None of which matter to a retro game collector/player. I have been longing for someone to do the decent thing and bring o...

I take it you are referring to Dino Dini and no never did meet him. Once ANIROG had gone I lost all contact with the old ANIROG folks except one of the programmers whom used to come out with me and my friends clubbing etc. He wrote Cybotron and a few other games for ANIROG and went on to write a cou...

'Matchbox Steer N Go' might be the noisy car steering wheel thing. I still have one from my childhood in my Parents loft. There was a wire arm inside a plastic mountain with roads around it. On top of the wire was a light and you had to keep the light on the road as a motor turned the moutain. The l...

I know this is an old thread but the 'ROG' from ANIROG was Roger Gammon. Anil and Roger originally set up ANIROG and opened a small stall/shop in the CO-OP in Crawley, West Sussex. I used to be a regular visitor and bought both my VIC20 and CBM64 from Roger himself and I must say he was a fantastic ...
