Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Yes, enjoying WWDITS, I liked the film, but it definitely works better in 25 minute bursts.

Re: Streets of Rage 2

It's an evergreen title.

If you're at a gaming event & there's a spare megadrive sitting about , it's always a fun playthrough with a beer & a mate.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 194

Mine just arrived today. Looking forward to cracking into that Skool Daze article.

Although I would've loved to have seen a Skool Daze cover, I guess Burnout is more commercial & I really like the artwork on the subscriber version.

The letters page is good this month too.

Re: Mega Drive Mini

Thunderforce 3, Toejam and Earl, Castle of Illusion, Sonic 2 & Streets of Rage 2.

5 of my favourite MD games there...this thing is actually starting to become quite tempting!!

Re: Master System must haves?

Wow Dudley! Hello there. I am amazed the Master System had much of a life after the Megadrive was released. The machine & games wern't that much cheaper & the MD had that MS converter for anyone looking to upgrade. A definite underdog, it's amazing to see how far they pushed the commercial life & wh...

Wow thanks for all the replies guys, gonna try and pick up a few of those at Gamestation tommorow.
Haha, I love how my thread has dated. I miss those days!

Building up quite a collection now, it's amazing how cheap you can pick up a lot of the carts for on Ebay.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Rekindling my love of the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games. I've recently picked them up on the XBox & I'm starting them again from scratch.

I'd forgotten how much fun they are, really enjoying playing through the 1st one again.

Re: Mega Drive Mini

The more I read about this SG "Hipster Megadrive" thing the better it sounds. If I had loads of spare cash & a pile of MD games I'd be ordering one for sure.

Re: Mega Drive Mini

70 quid for the UK version then, a bit rich for my blood. Good to see Toejam and Earl on there.

Re: Mega Drive Mini

When push comes to shove, I would have to admit that the Sega Megadrive is my favourite games console of all time. This looks like a cute little device, but the plug & play Megadrive thing has been so diluted over the years by Blaze/AtGames that it's hard to summon up much enthusiasm for yet another...

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

Oh almost worth picking up at that price. Is hacking it to play backups (no really) fairly idiot proof or do I have to jump through hoops aplenty on websites more virus laden than that germ farm monkey from Outbreak to unlock it's potential?

Re: Master System must haves?

I've been snapping up cheap carts where I can find them. 2 games that are WAY more fun than they have any right to be are Teddy Boy & The Ninja. 2 perfect examples of why I love retro gaming, cheap as hell, no fancy gimmicks, just pure arcade fun.

Nope, my laptop is about 15 years old & is only ever used for word docs for work & swaping files between my portable harddrive & android devices.

Re: Master System must haves?

To compliment the games I got with it, I picked up a few more in that shop in Manchester that's closing down, managed to get Speedball 1 & 2 & have change of a fiver! Man there's a LOT of flickery platform games on this thing! Most of the best games I've got seem to be valiant attempts to replicate ...
