Re: What's the most iconic retro game that's actually rubbish?

Q*Bert. Cute characters. Impressive for its time...but just plain fiddly, frustrating and no fun at all to actually play. There's a reason why it hardly ever gets remade or included in billions of compilations like the likes of Pacman, Galaga & Donkey Kong etc do. I love Q-Bert and the Gameboy vers...

Let's be honest with each other - Altered Beast sucks, and we all know it.
Yes, Altered Beast is an absolutely dreadful game...that I go back & play time and time again.

Re: Video game documentaries?

Been watching quite a few of these docs again recently. Love Chasing Ghosts & that High Score one where the guy's Missile Command can keeps breaking. Looks like the Kickstarter backers might actually get to see the Insert Coin Midway doc soon according to the latest email update. Looking forward to ...

Re: Insert Coin: Inside Midway's '90s Revolution (Kickstarter)

Yeah , a shame the backers can't get to see it while they take it round the festivals. At least it's been made & we'll get to see it eventually, unlike some Kickstarters!

Re: Video game documentaries?

I love the Speccy Addict films, some really good interviews with the folks that made some of my favourite games and magazines from that era. I'm glad to have backed all 3 on Kickstarter.

Re: The Star Wars thread

Saw it last night & absolutely loved it.

So glad the internet wasn't around in the 80s to tell me how wrong I was about loving the original trilogy.

Re: Android game recommendations

I'm pretty late to the party, but Arkanoid Vs Space Invaders is a great investment. A fiver is a bit steep for an Android game (I know right!) but well worth a punt as there's no freemium garbage, no ads, no DLC, no pay to win or any of that business. Just a straight up fun game that uses the touch ...

Re: From the Forum - Issue 199: Shareware

I wish I could remember what it was called. It was a Missile Command clone & it was the greatest version of Missile Command I've ever played...but I've never been able to find it since!

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

I hated Age of Ultron, it was the only Avengers film I didn't like. Maybe it's time for a rewatch & re-appraisal.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 195

On a major catch up of issues on a rare lazy Sunday afternoon. I really enjoyed this issue, Spiderman, Amiga Power & Konami articles are all great. However, I've just read the Nintendo DS "Hardware Heaven" & it's bugged me so much I am disproportionately incandescent with rage! "around the turn of t...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Spiderman 2 (the new one). Really good, maybe better than the first one. I've completely lost track of the Spider Man films. In the last 18 years we've had 3 reboots spanning 7 films & an animated spin off & quite a few cameos in the MCU it's no wonder you're confused. I think I know Spiderman's or...
