Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I'm glad places like that still exist. I don't really understand how they keep afloat, but am happy they do! It's a shame they don't have more space, as they could put on gaming evenings, etc. Famous DC collector? :?: I imagine that'd be Adam Koralik, who has a channel on YouTube that I subscribe t...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Dishonored, as i really fancied playing through it again, for £4.49 from cash generator. Bargain :D I really struggled to get into that. I think I left it about 4 levels in; I was going for a stealth / pacifist approach - this is usually what floats my boat, but it really failed to engage me, unlik...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Very nice Spectrum pickup and a superb price. Especially as there's a reseller at a car boot near me that tries to sell an average condition Spectrum+ for £30 and a boxed 48k for £40. By and large the car boots near me are saturated with re-sellers and buyers who hoover everything up, (and I mean ev...

Re: The hardest games of all time

Infocom's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (multi-format). It's considered an achievement to get out of the first room. I got as far as the Vogon ship but had tremendous difficulty getting a Babel Fish if I remember correctly. Also glad someone else mentioned Bayonetta as well, Not really the s...

Re: VIC 20 - Best Games

Did anyone ever play Subspace Striker? I remember playing this on my cousin's VIC-20 many, many years ago and really enjoying it. So much so in fact, that I bought a VIC-20 a few months back at a car boot sale, purely for the purposes of finding the game at some point and playing it again. (Actually...

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles + Wii Classic Controller Pro £15 Ar

I drove from Coventry to Kettering to get a copy (£24.99) last Sunday having previously tried (and failed) to order a copy for home delivery. Having seen the thread on here this evening, I thought I'd see if there were any other copies around as I could see others were still looking. I'd much rather...

Re: Julian Gollop Chaos Kickstarter

As an enormous fan of the original Chaos, (and plenty of Julian Gollop's games since), I had to back this.

Fingers crossed it meets (and exceeds) the funding target.

Re: EVENT-Video Game Market - 15/03/14 LEEDS - THIS SATURDAY

I've just got back as well. Really great event - I think I was queueing for an hour and a half to get in after arriving from Coventry at about 10.45am. I normally hate queuing, but as I was in a line of like-minded retro gaming types, I didn't mind at all. It was pretty cool to see the odd trickle o...

As far as I'm aware the grey is the original release and the pink is a reprint. No changes to the game so only of interest to completist collectors in the long run.
Thanks for that - much appreciated!

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Hi, Just wondered if anyone could help with something I noticed today. I bought a Dreamcast bundle today at a car boot sale and there were a number of duplicates of games I already own. As I imagine is usual for most people who collect, I've spent some time going through my existing collection, to w...

Re: From the forum issue 125 - Favourite movie licence

There are some great movie licences out there, many of which have already been mentioned, such as Robocop, Goldeneye, Platoon and Batman the Movie. However, the best for me also happens to be my favourite arcade game of all time - Star Wars by Atari - no other game, (with the possible exception of D...

Re: New retro gamer website feedback

Thanks for the help in finding the login button Sixteen Plus. No great progression for me there though - I seem to be faced with the option to login via : Retro Gamer Disqus Facebook Twitter Google I assume I need to click on 'Retro Gamer', (as that would seem to be the obvious solution, given the f...
