Re: New Vs Old Marvel Vs Capcom
While I haven't played it as much as I played MVC2, I feel they got a lot of balance things right with the new game. Both in terms of characters, and mechanics.

Re: Issue 93 Sneak peek
Wow, that's a fantastic looking cover. Can't wait to see how it looks on the shelf.
I'm looking forward to the board games thing. I enjoyed the pinball and slots features from a few years back and figured you'd never get around to board games at this stage.

Re: The General Magic: the Gathering Thread
I've been playing for about eleven years now. If I tried harder I should be winning decent-sized tournaments but I just approach it too casually. Like, I'll decide I love a particular card or strategy and insist on using it even when it's not top-tier.

Re: Do you own a system just for a couple of games??
When I got my first pay packet all those years ago I bought myself a PSone and Grandia. Grandia's a game I was always really curious about. Fortunately, I loved it. I did end up getting more PS1 games in the years after that, but nothing I would have missed otherwise, and being a Sega nut I never re...

Replaying Wind Waker. I still don't get why people hate the sailing so much. So relaxing.... I loved sailing around in that game, it was so much fun exploring all the little islands. It gave the game a real sense of journey, in a away that even OoT didn't achieve. I loved the sailing too, especiall...

Re: If you hadn't gotten rid.
I'm currently in the process of getting rid of my old consoles. The Atari 7800, Dreamcast and one of the N64s are already gone. Currently getting the other N64, the SNES, the Playstation One and the NES ready to go. Then all I'll own are the Wii, the DS, the Megadrive (with no joypads, or it'd be so...

Megaman X. Blew me away despite never liking the NES games. Never got to play the sequels, but always wanted to.

Re: What are you currently playing?
Playing through Zelda: Link to the Past again for the first time in a few years. I've played it so much in the past that it's one of those games where I can trot from mission to mission from memory, without needing to get instructions from characters. Kinda bugs me, but still awesome.

Re: Cruis'n USA
Gotta go with the consensus here, it's one of those holiday arcade games that you can develop a love for purely because your options are restricted. My personal holiday game was Area 51, a dreadful on-rails shooter that I loved and still do. Apparently that's grounds for chemical sterilisation. The ...

Re: King of Collectors: Full Playstation 2 NTSC Library Seal
There's probably people out there who collect books in mint condition, never opening them in order to preserve the spine. I've never met or heard of anyone, but I'd be willing to bet that there's at least someone who collects every printed edition of The Lord of the Rings and keeps them in pristine,...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week
I have Oracle of Ages and played it to the end a couple of years ago. It is good, it has the Link's Awakening vibe but with a lot of progress evident. My only beef with it was that it had a rather tiresome final boss stretch, and the collection element is larger than most Zelda games. I never found ...

Re: King of Collectors: Full Playstation 2 NTSC Library Seal
Some people seem to be under the illusion that the man has no unsealed PS2 games. Of course he does. He doesn't say, but I'd imagine that a sizeable percentage of his collection is duplicates of games he opens and plays. So where's the problem?

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week
It was the collector's edition that came with Wind Waker. Fortunately, I don't remember it ever crashing in the middle of a dungeon, so I could do those and then immediately reset the timeline, which would auto-save. I think all the crashes occured while moving from one overworld section to another,...

Re: King of Collectors: Full Playstation 2 NTSC Library Seal
More tenuous pirate logic: This is the reason why pirates buried all their treasure instead of spending it. Some collectors get all the satisfaction they want from just owning the collection. While this is a particularly gargantuan example, as a collector myself (of Magic: the Gathering cards, not g...
