Re: Issue 211

FInally got round to the SNES article, loved it, well done to whoever to put that together. You forget how spreadout console launches between Jap, US and EUR used to be!!

Re: Issue 211

I’ve been reading magazines (mostly computers, gaming , sports and cars) for 40 years and always read the monthly regular columns first. The RG ones always seem a bit short. I’m curious what the required word count is for the Mr Biffo and Iain Lee columns. Each month it seems like they are just gett...

Just seen the next issue in Tesco, a day before it's supposed to be out.
Any subscribers got theirs yet?

Retro Gamer - Issue 210

I'm surprised there's no thread for this issue yet. I had to create one just to say how great the Tony Pomfret interview is, he's a character, just don't mention Wigan

That Chris Cannon interview is superb. Also enjoyed the 3d Monster Maze, BBC Minority report and Rebel Assult articles.

Re: Issue size

That said, I'd say retail sales are absolutely crucial, because they attract new readers who otherwise would never hear about Retro Gamer. A very good point, for some reason I'd not thought of that. Once you become a subscriber to something you sort of stop thinking about the buying of it in a shop...

Re: Issue size

This is all very interesting, I don't give two hoots about whether the mag has 100 pages or 116 pages. I just get it and read it. But I am curious what the % split is between retail sales and subscriber numbers is? I always assumed RG was much for of a Subscriber heavy publication which meant retail...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 208 - Back to the 80s

I read the Formula One article today, loved it. I don't think I was ever even aware it existed, although more than likely I did see the adverts for it, but not having a Speccy didn't pay much attention to it. Will have to give it a go via emulation.

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 208 - Back to the 80s

Yeah looks like a great issue, I actually got mine on Monday! I was surprised to see no Homebrew section but learnt (via the AtariAge Forums) today that Jason Kelk is laid up in hospital due to Covid-19! https://atariage.com/forums/topic/307853-have-just-read-in-june-2020s-retro-gamer-magazine/ I th...

Re: Questions for Tony 'Daley Thompson' Pomfret

Was Daley Thomsons's Decathlon influenced by Konami's Track & Field or Activision's Decathlon, or both or neither?

Re: From the forum issue 208: Eighties pick'em

Lets have: Commodore 64. The best selling computer in history can't be wrong! Nintendo Wii. I hated Nintendo until this came out!! Had the family engrossed in gaming for years! Gauntlet. Four player cab. Four mates around and a bag of 10p's... Yes please! I think all your picks need to be from the ...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 207 - 40 Years of Pac-Man

Loved the article about the recent developments in CPC Homebrew, it boggles my mind how much that machine can be pushed given it's lack of any real custom hardware (well on the 464/6128 anyway).

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 206

But I don't take kindly to being talked down to by smug folk who don't even bother to read what I actually wrote (that's not directed at you, by the way) yet feel it's important to be snide about it. Fair enough, although I'm not reading anything in this thread that suggests there are any "smug" pe...

Does it bother you that most people associate Software Projects with Matthew Smith and his games and little else?
