Re: From the forum issue 208: Eighties pick'em

Lets have: Commodore 64. The best selling computer in history can't be wrong! Nintendo Wii. I hated Nintendo until this came out!! Had the family engrossed in gaming for years! Gauntlet. Four player cab. Four mates around and a bag of 10p's... Yes please! I think all your picks need to be from the ...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 207 - 40 Years of Pac-Man

Loved the article about the recent developments in CPC Homebrew, it boggles my mind how much that machine can be pushed given it's lack of any real custom hardware (well on the 464/6128 anyway).

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 206

But I don't take kindly to being talked down to by smug folk who don't even bother to read what I actually wrote (that's not directed at you, by the way) yet feel it's important to be snide about it. Fair enough, although I'm not reading anything in this thread that suggests there are any "smug" pe...

Re: Questions for Chris 'Software Projects' Cannon

Does it bother you that most people associate Software Projects with Matthew Smith and his games and little else?

As long as I keep getting RG every month the cover could be blank and I'd be more happy.

I'm playing NBA Hangtime on MAME because I read that NBA Jam book. As a challenge I fancied having a go at beating all the teams the game, I'm halfway through at the moment.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 205

So I pitched the Tim Kitzrow interview because I felt it was something RG hadn't touched on before. I'm really glad you did, the article was very interesting. On the back of it I bought and read the NBA Jam book that was mentioned and that was really worth it. Not only did it cover the whole histor...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 205

Yeah a good issue, loved the Uridium and Hard Drivin' articles, not read the 16-but war yet, but looking forward to it.

I have to admit though, those "Top Trumps" went straight in our recycling.

It was unavailable the one time I tried yesterday afternoon, but otherwise I've been able to access it fine.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 204

It does come with a hiccup though. The people who subscribe to RG will often be collector types. These people will collect the mag. When they later want to find an article or pick up a back issue to read, the regular cover gives at least a vague outline of the major contents. The subs cover isn't h...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 204

I used to buy EDGE when it came in the plastic bag on the shelf in WHSmiths and you didn't know what was even on the cover never mind the content. Surely once you've built up a certain idea about what a magazine is going to give you the "selling" part is irrelevant, and given we're talking about "Su...

Re: From the Forum - Issue 205: Sega vs Nintendo

I'm saying Nintendo but only because I've owned more of their consoles (3) them Sega ones (1). For me it has always been about what games I want to play not the hardware they are on. I'd likely never have owned my Dreamcast if, at the time, Virtua Tennis had been on the Playstation or Xbox.
