Re: GODS Remastered

Played this game to death on the SNES. Loved it. It was rock hard but very rewarding. I was able to complete the game - there was a super weapon in a hidden room which was very useful with the last boss. I loved the looks and the audio. It ran pretty fast on the SNES too - felt faster than the MD ve...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

Very often only one SCART socket on a TV will support RGB and it's usually the 1st one.

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

One thing that the classic will have over the original hardware is - I presume - an absence of loadtimes.

Re: The first games you completed.

2600 games you can "beat" by clocking the score - the game just keeps going though:- I clocked these games: Asteroids, Atlantis, Yars' Revenge, Defender, Cosmic Creeps, Solar Storm and Video Pinball. 2600 games you could "finish" I beat these games : Megamania (stops at 999,999) Breakout (ends after...

Forgot about Crazy Taxi as well !!!! :)
Why forget about Crazy Taxi? I have 1 and 2. The first one is still a brilliant game, and ther second still playable?!

Said forgot - not forget!

:)

I have both. I've played a fair old bit of the original - have yet to put any serious time in on 2.

Re: games where the original was best

Tetris What are we considering to be the original Tetris? The first Gameboy version perhaps perfected it, but that isn't the original. The original Tetris would be the text-only version for the Elektronika 60, a Russian clone of the PDP-11. In terms of the gameplay though, the Gameboy version is pr...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

Forgot about Rez!! Probably a bit expensive now but- DC games are easy to acquire by other means. I'm a collector though so I tend to stick to official discs. There's Chu Chu Rocket too - forgot about that one. If you like a multi-player puzzle game it's great though it takes a bit of getting used t...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

My favourite DC games:- Gunbird 2 - rock hard shmup. Plays best in TATE mode though so you will need to rotate your TV for that. Sadly this is one of those few PAL games that doesn't work with a VGA connection. It can be tricked into working with it but I found it to be a bit glitchy when I tried it...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

I did indeed buy a VGA cable for the Dreamcast on ebay and Daytona looks absolutley beautiful. Im glad you pointed out that some games dont support VGA otherwise Id have probably though the game was a dud. The game will display a message - something to the effect of "This game does not support this...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

The lightgun was fairly poorly supported with games. Virtua Cop 2 only came out with the US Sega Smash Pack; I'm not sure if a UK gun is compatible? House of the Dead is about the inly decent UK game, and that's really fun. As is Typing of the Dead if you get a keyboard. Confidental Mission is the ...

Re: Cex now selling Super Nes stuff

I'm always staggered at how much people will pay for inferior versions of classic games. PAL SNES is some of the worst around when it comes to poor optimisation. Nothing quite compares with the PAL Megadrive version of Sonic the Hedgehog though! Are NTSC SNES games cheaper than PAL SNES games? If s...

Re: Which Dreamcast?

Dreamcast Daytona is one of the great joys of gaming. It garnered some criticism early on because of the twitchy control with a pad. But the PAL version lets you adjust the sensitivity of the controls. However - you are doing it right. It works great with the DC wheel. The DC version of Daytona stan...

Re: What's Your Favorite Driving/Racing Game Ever?

Arcade racers for me. Don't really like attempts at realism or games with too many options for tweaking with setups. F-Zero X is still top of my tree but hot on its heels in no particular are : Outrun (on Saturn and Coast to Coast on PS2) Daytona (360 and Dreamcast) Sega Rally (have played a lot of ...
