Re: The Playstation 2 .... I missed the whole thing

Ok noo need for the attack alright? everyone is entitled to an opinion and this was mind. Indeed they are. It wasn't an 'attack'. I was only humouring some of the more outlandish things you had said. No need to be so over-sensitive. We've seen one of the forum's most vocal PS1/PS2 fans taking snide...

Re: The Playstation 2 .... I missed the whole thing

Surely to goodness you're not saying current-gen games look ropey when compared to PS2 games? While your love for PS2 is well established here I don't think even you would be that blinkered? Indeed. That would be like saying that VCS graphics have aged better than PS2 graphics but apparently there ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Bioshock Infinity (PC) - only played this for an hour or two but ohmigod do the graphics look beautiful at mostly 'ultra' video settings in 1080p via HDMI on my 40" TV . :D What TV do you have and do you notice any lag? I have been thinking of getting a gaming PC and using my 40inch TV as a monitor...

Re: Miyamoto didn't code Donkey Kong

The Wikipedia entry for the games states, He (Hiroshi Tamauchi) approached a young industrial designer named Shigeru Miyamoto, who had been working for Nintendo since 1977, to see if Miyamoto thought he could design an arcade game. Miyamoto said he could.[29] Yamauchi appointed Nintendo's head engin...

Re: The Playstation 2 .... I missed the whole thing

You could offer arguments that 16 bit games, certainly 2D ones have aged better than PS2 but certainly not 8bit. So many 8bit titles are junk to play now and are impossibly hard. Not all are like it of course, still some crackers around but you can keep Monty Mole and I'll keep Jak and Daxter. Yep,...

Yeah, it's not the first time either, which probably means we are talking about the same site  Great to see that the highly esteemed published author and expert Atari historian Marty Goldberg has since corrrected them. :D http://www.retrocollect.com/News/infamous-united-states-burial-ground-f...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Assassin's Creed II (PC) - picked this up for a pittance not long ago and it's not bad at all, imho. Bioshock Infinity (PC) - only played this for an hour or two but ohmigod do the graphics look beautiful at mostly 'ultra' video settings in 1080p via HDMI on my 40" TV . :D Zen Pinball 2 (Wii U) - g...

Re: ET Graveyard to be excavated!

They won't find anything other than a load of broken old computer parts and some crushed ROM chips. This urban myth was debunked years ago and covered in detail in the recent Atari book. One so called "reputable" retro gaming site has even reported that there are long lost protos in there to be dis...

Re: The Playstation 2 .... I missed the whole thing

I have nothing but sheer love for the PS 2. Feeling 'sheer love' for a consumer electronics appliance not sold by Ann Summers. Intriguing. Does said inanimate object ever love you back? It now lives in the spare room, due to not enough room under the TV with the 360 and PS 3, but many times have ho...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

* Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (PC) - paid £7.20 for it today via GMG using the current 20% off discount code - that's the lowest price I've seen for it by some margin - played it earlier and loving it so far for its old-school no-nonsense approach :D Had a look at this today, very good game with loa...

Re: The Playstation 2 .... I missed the whole thing

We'll have to agree to disagree regarding the PS2 hardware itself but, yes, it had some decent games like most consoles tend to do. Of that home console generation I chose to buy Dreamcast, GameCube and Xbox, i.e. every console apart from PS2. 'Nuff said! Ment as in the shape of it, people complain...
