Amazing charity auction for a most special NES

Hi, I'm just throwing a post and a few links up here of an amazing Charity Auction for a very special NES here in Ireland. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057260175 This auction is in aid of Brain Aneurysm Research, in the University of Limerick, http://www.ulfoundation.com/projects...

Re: Is there room for the Wii U in this gen?

Regarding one element of the OP CoD:Ghosts is out for the WiiU and it's still uninspiring. But then I have played it on the Xbox One as well and it's not much better. That said, the series has rapidly been going down the tubes for a while now, becoming less and less relevant to me at least. The WiiU...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I have a few things here or incoming.
Gunvari, a Namco lightgun collection for the PS2 is there, with all three Point Blank games as well as Time Crisis, it's very nice, and I have acopy of GTI Club for the Wii incoming from Germany, PAL copies of that one are thin on the ground.

Re: Installing games to the hard drive of a messiah chipped

I got FreeMcBoot from a friend but was very disappointed to find that it doesn't render the host PS2 properly region free. Yes, you can rip a different region game to a HDD, patch it and play it on the PS2, but I don't really want to have to got to that bother. I have a PS2 TEST and it'll run any re...

Re: If you had to choose

My Atomiswave Sd cabinet with Robotron, and a 2 player control panel, so I can play twin stick, proper style.

Actually, I take it back, all I need is my Vectrex and Rockaroids.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Just received Super Puyo for the Super Famicom and the lovely Parodius Deluxe Pack for the Playstation, I can't wait to get home to play it! I'd love to find a similarly bargain priced Gradius and Salamander Deluxe packs, I got the Parodius Pack, with Puyo, for a total of €15, before postage, I don'...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Well, I bought GTAV:CE, then realised I was a little long in the tooth for a Los Santos baseball cap, so I sold it for what I paid and got the regular edition instead! I also have bought Parodius Deluxe for the PS and Super Puyo for the Jap Snes. Far Cry 3 was also picked up, and I was given a copy ...

Little bit of GTA5, a lot of a game called Graphlogic on the phone, Dark Souls is back in action again, I'm trying to squeeze in some Chronotrigger time as well.

Re: RetroN 5 Thoughts

Quick question about this device, Is it going to run games, in particular Snes games, from any region? I have a region free Snes in the gamesroom upstairs but I'd love to be able to play my entire Snes collection on the main TV. If it is region free it'll be a day 1 purchase for me, to hell with the...

Re: Wait this is a boss battle?

I was playing MGS4, way back when. Really enjoyed it, despite the cookery tips on how to fry an egg and the rest of the lunacy that winds up in most Kojima games. I found myself playing it, mostly, at ungodly early hours of the morning and on this occasion I was at the last battle, as it turned out....

Re: Favourite video game "Moral Panics"

[quote="ToxieDogg"] I think you have to take into account that literature/films/tv/art are passive mediums, not interactive mediums. To an extent, I agree with you and see your point entirely. But I can also understand why a game that actively encourages you (as the player) to take part in, and make...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I was a sucker and bought Grand Theft Auto V, and not just the regular version, I got the edition with the stupid hat I'll never wear and a dumb ass bag I'll never use :( MIght sell it and just buy the vanilla version for the PS3. On a brighter note I have a C64 on it's way to me, with a bunch of ga...

Re: Best Film and TV licences

Yeah, that game was breaktaking, expanding the Bladerunner'verse in a way no one was expecting, and it was superb. My favourite film/tv licences though, aside from the above, Batman Returns on the Snes, as much as I detest most scrolling beat'em ups, the visuals and soundtrack in this one perfectly ...
