Wasn't it running on DC type hardware? I'd love to see an article on the series, one of my fav Sega games.
On that note, maybe would be a good regular column, to introduce people to games they're not aware existed "arcade classics you've never played". Planet Harrier was pretty scarce!

Re: Hot Topic - Best Shadow of the Beast game
I never found the series to be that bad gameplay wise. Sure they were tough games but so were capcom games of 80's/90's. Anyway, I know I'm in a minority here but IMHO sometimes graphics are important and yes, part of the overall experience. IF this wasn't true, we'd still be playing on our Atari 26...

Re: Getting this off my chest: unbalanced content
Hmmm, the PC has covered such a large era, it's probably a smart idea to start identifying particular "eras", because without doing that, probably most fans will feel they still haven't had it covered. Case in point, the original poster probably became a fan during the early/mid 90's, which is a ful...

The original. 30 years later, it's still being played and is very relevant. Will we be able to say the same for the others after 30 years?

Elite: One of the best games ever, never mind “Best David Braden game”. Space exploration: check; open world gameplay: never seen that before and check. A true classic and all for the right reasons.

Re: Best Colecovision games
What a great thread. :) The Colecovision had such great arcade conversions, it was also the first console that caused me to form an addiction to buying almost every release at the time (even got me to buy the Adam computer!). Really tough to pick a top 5 but here goes. 1 - H.E.R.O. 2 - Time Pilot 3 ...

Re: Questions for Martyn Brown
Although you've shifted to digital downloads, if the series is a success, will there be consideration for releasing a disc version once the episodic releases are complete? (ie: Alien Breed Evolution episodes 1, 2 and 3 are all released).
Any other series you are contemplating as a re-imagination?

Re: Issue 72 feedback thread....
I live in Canada, signed on for the subscription (along with Gamestm) and I got my issue #72 yesterday. For the record, Issue #71 is still not available in the local stores :). Not finished yet but it looks like another solid issue. Great article on the Fallout franchise, well written and good to se...

Re: From the Forum question for issue 72
Well, I know I'm going to be quite in the minority here, but the first AD&D game I really liked was Slayer on the 3DO, probably because it was the first (I think) to put the game into a 3d environment.

Re: Should I buy....an Atari ST
Haven't checked out that link but I did own one fun Atari ST Game that was not released on the Amiga: 10th Frame Bowling from Access software (makers of Leaderboard / Links golf). Great game. Also, I preferred the Atari ST version of Chestmaster (2000 I think?) as the Amiga version used the speech s...

Re: Old Vs New: After Burner 2 Vs After Burner Climax
I voted for After Burner II, another Sega classic that brought attention to the use of hydraulics in arcades. It was one of the first to bring motion to a non-racing game, right? It’s too bad. I like these types of polls but After Burner Climax just wasn't in enough arcades for most of us to have ev...

Re: Best Atari Arcade Game
If Star Wars would have been on there, I think it would have won easily :) Bacl to the poll: Asteroids FTW. Aside from being ground breaking with its design, it probably has the best use of vector graphics to date. If anyone lived through its initial release, no one, I mean no one, could resist pump...

Re: Backup Unit / Copier retrospection
Whenever I think of Backup software and the morality behind its use, I think of an old Amiga Developer named “Discovery Software”. Why? These dudes were making one of the better software based backup program called “Marauder II”. It could back up almost every game released at the time. Then came Mar...

I used to own an Apple II+ a long time ago. Not sure if my memory will be helpful but what do you want to know?
