Re: Cyclist v Audi driver

I work in London, have done over 20 years now. I also commute by bicycle and often seen twattish behaviour from all road users. Have had both buses and lorries overtake me then immediately pull across forcing me into emergency braking to avoid going under their rear wheels. Had a car passenger try t...

Re: Your old stuff that still works?

Bwahhh, just had to replace my freezer and tumble dryer which both packed up. Freezer was a Hotpoint and inherited from my parents who bought it 28 years ago. Tumble dryer a Hoover, again inherited from my parents who bought it 25 years ago. Neither were ever repaired. New tumble dryer came with a t...

Re: How good are you at games now you're older

I used to ROCK at adrenaline fuelled reaction-fest FPS like Quake 3 (was once in the top 300 in the world) and Starsiege Tribes but now... Recently started playing Tribes Ascendency and keep getting my ar*e handed to me. Lucky to make it midway on the score tables (managed top once (on the winning t...

Wasteland.

It was immense, absorbing, superb!

Also a great justification for the 1541C I had begged and pleaded for as a Christmas present...

Re: Ethical Dilemma regards employment and notice period

Normally companies expect you to be faithful towards them, yet on the other hand they would make you redundant as soon as it suited them. They cannot expect a one way street so I'd say go for the first job then if the second one comes up hand in your notice and leave! One thing to bare in mind thoug...

l33t = elite I've been kicked from a Medal of Honor server as was accused of cheating. Don't expect anyone to believe me but I have NEVER cheated on any online games and have been playing them since Doom came out (ok across a LAN but still online in my books)! Was also kicked from a Quake 3 Arena se...

Left 4 Dead 2 - Getting Kicked from Games?

I haven't really played any online FPS for about 8 years but recently decided to give L4D2 a go (especially as was dirt cheap on Steam). Well haven't been playing it that long before I got kicked from a game. Why did I get kicked? One of the other players complained I was too slow, hell I'm still tr...

Re: NeXT Computer

Wasn't Impress developed for the NeXT? Seriously powerful yet user friendly spreadsheet long before Excel got there. Also remember the Wibbly Wobbly Web was developed on a NeXT workstation. So something else to be thankful for. Sadly when the NeXT cube was out all I got in work was a Dec Ultrix work...

Re: NeXT Computer

Weren't these the ones that had no hard drives, only media being a slow optical worm drive?

Also used Display Postscript so the display was properly rendered with accurate kerning, etc (initially in B+W only, in colour later).

Hidden & Dangerous - Any New Games?

Two of my all time favourite games were the Hidden and Dangerous ones, despite being two of the buggiest games I've ever played!

Surely there should be an updated game in the series now? Anyone heard anything about this?

For that matter anyone else loved these games or am I just weird?
