Re: football management games

Lost a long time to CM/FM in the past but try as I might I can't get any long term enjoyment from them these days. FM16 and 15 and 14 before it just aren't fun, even the slimmed down versions. Also they absolutely blast hell out of the battery in my macbook air.

Re: Let's have a Christmas themed cover... Please!

Thanks Darren for unlocking.

Ok, I think the reason I and others really would like to see a festive cover and some festive content at this time of year because so many retro memories around gaming are tied up with Christmas. Can't believe it's been 5 years since the Oli Frey cover.

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 162

Sorry you feel I respond poorly to bad feedback. Personally, I don't feel that's the case at all and I'm one of the few editors I know that actually bothers to spend time on their forum and listen to reader feedback. you are perfectly entitled to your opinion though :) I locked the thread because o...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 162

First discovered RG at issue 46 and bought it religiously for almost 8 years. My wife even bought me subscriptions for Christmas. Almost 2 years ago though she asked me if I wanted it renewed for Christmas. When I saw then that yet again there was to be no Christmas cover despite the clearly expres...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 110 Official Feedback

Some pretty good content with the SWOS and SCUMM stuff. Absolutely terrible cover though, it has to be said. My heart sank when mine arrived and I opened the bag.

Re: Annoying stuff about PES 2013...

Once again, it's not working. half past 11 on a Monday night and "Unable to connect". I've always been a PES fan and the actual game this year is really good. I'm starting to get hacked off though by all these constant niggles. And another thing, the dreadful menu music they force down our throats y...

Annoying stuff about PES 2013...

I just need to vent this, sorry. 1. Why is it still not licenced? 2. Why are option files such a faff? 3. Why do I often get "unable to connect"? Whenever I try to play I never know if it's going to allow me to play on line. I'd say the success rate is abot 50%. 4. What happened to the demo screen c...

What do you want from the next generation of consoles?

There's going to be a lot of speculation about hardware etc as we edge closer to new consoles in the next couple of years, but what do you actually want from the games? Me, I want to see some depth and some imagination. I've enjoyed this generation to a degree, but there's now no more releases I'm r...

Re: What games (if any) would you say are perfect?

Monkey Island 2 and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis are examples of gaming perfection.

Re: From the Forum issue 99

It's got to be the Spectrum. I first saw one at a friend's house aged 5 and played Match Day and Booty. From that day I've loved games. I'm now about to turn 32.

Looking forward to this one. Excellent festive cover and great to see the lesson has been learned from the non-festive December issue debacle of 2 years go.

Re: Why Reviews no longer matter.

So many reviews are so biased, agenda driven or downright bad that I've had no choice but to stop paying any attention to them. Same goes for film reviews.

Re: Fifa 12 - Momentum

PES for all it's faults (especially in 2008 and 2009) has never gone in for this cheap nonsense that FIFA does.

Try PES 2012. It's the best football game I've ever played. A tip though, change the default camera to "Long" as this is the correct camera setting.
