Re: SEGA SATURN lies and PSONE cool.

My kids got through 4 ps2's and they were just sat next to the TV like any other console. We also had 3 ps3's before I gave up and stuck with our still working Xbox and xbox360. Just the luck of the draw I guess. Never had a Saturn but the more I read from u guys the more tempted i get.

Re: Your personal worst games of the 'modern' generation

Modern Warfare 3 (Battlecall Field of Duty 9) I'm not a cod hater by any stretch and have played a lot of all of them - but I just can't get into MW3, it's just too gamey for me, with elite service trying to push it as an e-sport type thing. Gave up with the single player campaigns on cod after cod2...

Re: Your personal worst games of the 'modern' generation

Ahhh, I can think of another one I'd not mentioned: Mass Effect. The entire series. I really liked Bioware up until that point. Then that game happened. Now..... yeah, I just pretend Bioware doesnt exist anymore. You seriously could not pay me enough to play those. Well, unless you gave me 10 billi...

Re: Anyone else glad the Olympics are over?

Dunno what to think as I didn't watch it. Tell a lie, I was in the pub and the tv was showing some people on bikes going round and round in a circle. Then some huge HUGE women lifting weights above there heads. That reminded me I had to go home soon for tea, so I raced myself through 3 more pints of...

Re: Your personal worst games of the 'modern' generation

I can't say these were truly terrible games but I have felt let down by two recent AAA releases. Dues Ex and Diablo 3 - they just bored me. Diablo 3 especially, it just felt like a clicking simulator come fruit machine. Been playing Titan Quest instead, and doing a second play through of Fallout Tac...

About to start a game of Plague inc on iOS. Need to beet the world on the first disease type yet - last night I lost because my disease killed all of its own hosts it was so deadly. There were only 320 people left alive in the whole world - they were in iceland (not the shop).

Re: Half Life 3 - have Valve missed the bus?

Aside from the graphics, have the FPS genre really moved on that much? Aside from the fact it's now mandatory to use regenerating health there's not a great deal available today you won't find in HL2. DNF was a mess of different developers and engines, so we all knew deep down it was going to be ru...

Re: Half Life 3 - have Valve missed the bus?

I would not be surprised if HL3 ended up as a flagship release for a new gen of consoles or the steam box thingy.

Re: Wings comeback?

Great game, but got pretty hard onm later stages - especially the strafing level where it got almost impossuble to not get badly shot up. The diary was phenomenal though and gave the game massive atmosphere. I eventually played through to then end (using quite a few pilots!) and it was worth it. I'...
