Re: Home Brew Section
Been a while since I was last here, but I've just released a new game! "In the Walls of Eryx" is a brand new game for the 128k ZX-Spectrum by Monster's Legs Productions, using Jonathan Cauldwell's Arcade Game Designer. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and Kenneth J Sterling's short story (and with the kin...

My new game stuff.
Been a while since I've popped on here, thought I'd share some of the stuff I've been up to. Most recently, I've been working on a new ZX Spectrum game based on an H.P. Lovecraft short story called "In the Walls of Eryx", got a video of my progress here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLDfdU-1WVI L...

New Zealand Story (Arcade Cab) - Glasgow
I recently topped my previous high score on the arcade cab at the back of "Nice N Sleazys" in Glasgow, if anyone can knock me ("REV") off of the top spot on that same machine, then I will buy them a pint. And try the "Murderous Hog" burger while you're in, it's amaaaaaazin; pork mince, smoked bacon,...

Re: Scottish Pinball Open and Arcade Expo - Nov 24/25th
Looks like a great event to me, and I'd love to go, but bloody hell what chance do you have if you haven't got a car! I've just been on google maps and it appears to be positioned roughly in the centre of a place called Nowhere :( Traditionally we call it Scotland. You're probably best to look at t...

Re: I can't be the only one really excited for Prometheus
The way I see it, the Engineers go to a planet and seed it with life. That's what they specialise in; manipulating DNA/genetic engineering. They also create hostile life (the squid thing and snake thing (Hammerpede). I guess they came across the Alien (obviously interested in it and it's genetic po...

Re: Do Video games make you angry?
Halo: Reach has made me incredibly angry; whether it's the lag, or team-killers when you reach their favourite weapon before they do, or an entire opposing team of Armour Lock-ers, or people choosing Uncaged on Swat or Haemorage on Big Team AGAIN (YOU BORING BORING PEOPLE), my jimmies are rustled qu...
Re: VIC-20
I bought that very one on Ebay last year, boxed and in perfect nick, for about £40. And somehow the guy managed to sneak another Spectrum +2 unannounced into the box.AHendersonUK wrote:I used to have the James Bond version of the ZX Spectrum+2. No idea whatever happened to it.

Re: the first urination in games...after loading the Spectrum version of Cabal, the main character appears and relieves himself over the words "Operation Wolf". The sound effects of the red hell-dogs in Alien Breed 3D on the Amiga were sampled from An American Werewolf in London. And most of the sou...
Re: Yuuup!!!
I mute it when the Yuuuuuuuup! guy starts bidding. I like the guy that looks like Leon from Blade Runner, he's a wind-up merchant. The guy with the skeleton gloves that claims to be a collector...I cringe when I watch him sort through a locker, tossing things about; the worst one was where he found ...

Re: Replayed, and completed Halo Reach Yesterday...
 F****************K! I logged into my profile, started up Reach, and I find my onscreen tag and logo had been changed, my armour had been set back to default, and the campaign had all it's levels "locked" (I saved it on New Alexandria, which it let me play, but no levels prior to it), regardle...

Re: I f****** love Raiden
Back in the days of Myspace, when you could add Flash to your profile (and blinged out animated gifs...*shudders*), I set up a wee contest with my mates on my profile page at getting a high score on this online version of Raiden... http://www.freeworldgroup.com/games4/gameindex/raiden.htm ...if memo...

Re: Replayed, and completed Halo Reach Yesterday...
I like armour lock, there are few things more satisfying in multiplayer than armour locking a ghost about to run you over. Brilliant. I've only done this once, to get the achievement. I rarely choose it. If I do, I tend to forget I've got it, and never use it. If I were to rate them best to worst i...
