Re: Samurais & Ninjas

For Samurai's - I've always loved the Samurai Shodown series. But my pick for best would no doubt be both Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan and Ishin from Sega (PS3 and PS4 respectively). Amazing games pack with content, combat and lots of Yakuza action and silliness (and Mahjong). Ninja wise it'd have to be Shi...

What Remains of Edith Finch (read many good things about it) and Plague Tale: Innocence (story-driven puzzle-action game). Both for PS4.
Both are excellent. Only issue I had with Plague Tale was some encounter design at the end of the game, but all in all it was a refreshingly fun game.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Spent a fair few hours today trying the Yakuza 7 demo (which was released nice and early ahead of its Jan 2020 release). I love it. Its strange, its an RPG now yet dipping into how the combat works reveals that its actually pretty deep in some aspects. Some hilarious enemy designs (the most creative...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Terry's a blast to use in Smash Bros. Its funny just how well he (and the Capcom bros) translate to Smash while still retaining their trademark fighting styles, though I put that down to Sakurai and co. just having such a great eye for detail when it comes to these things. Top notch list of tracks a...

This months pickups so far, as always, its more stuff for my Capcom collection: https://i.imgur.com/pBCyLKk.jpg Street Fighter Zero 3 for Matching Service - basically a Zero 3 re-release with online play, I will admit, despite owning many copies already this one was purchased for the awesome manual/...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Finished the first Bayonetta. Bloody great game aside from QTE's, some of which give you hardly any time to react and resulted in needless insta-death. Also managed to miss a lot of the vinyl pieces and Alfheim challenge portals so those must have been better hidden than I expected... Other than th...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Been playing around on the Resident Evil 5 and 6 demos currently out on the Eshop. 5 plays very well, looks damn nice as well. I'll certainly enjoy replaying it yet again on the go. 6 looks bloody amazing on the small screen, but with that brings some performance issues at major firefights. Nothing ...

Re: Ebay is flooded with repros. Can anything be done?

My first ever eBay purchase? SNES Super Probotector. Paid with a cheque in the post. Those were the days! My first purchase was Blood Omen for the Playstation. I also got super lucky and got my Mega Man games and many rarer Capcom ones for cheap before they ballooned in price. I have noticed more a...

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Me too, seems like good value. Plus as I have a second PS4 pad I no longer use its perfect for the iPhone. Seems to work fine when paired. Now just to decide which games to try first...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Deadstorm Pirates on the PS3 was a blast to play. Some of the worst voice acting this side of HOTD2 (which means its excellent). I hope the port/remake of HOTD1 turns out good, would be nice having something better than the Saturn port to play. It’s funny how HOTD1 which a lot of people consider th...

Re: iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations

Having recently upgraded my phone (on account of the last one basically dying, between the battery and the hardware being pretty out of date) so I made sure I got a IOS13 compatible phone so I could give the arcade a shot. Seems really nice so far, great range of games and the price is just right. I...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Pre-ordered the Yakuza Remaster Collection on PS4...then realised that it won't be released until Feb 2020 lol Still, it looks like a sweet pack. The physical PS3 game case for Yakuza 5 is a nice touch and a nod to the fact that many were disappointed with the original Yakuza 5 being digital-only. ...

Re: Favourite Resident Evil?

Clearly its this version of RE2: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48636395962_f28debd614_z.jpg (the pretty bad Gamecom port of RE2. Ambitious, but no less bad) Its impossible for me to pick a favourite, as I love RE1 (REmake), RE2 (both original and REmake) and RE4 in pretty much equal measures.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

This next couple of weeks is looking nice for Switch releases for me - Zelda LA is this week (love the GB versions so this is a no brainer) and Ori & Blind Forest soon after, so unless that's a bad port (not likely) I'll grab that as well. While I wait, I have the Mana collection to keep me company ...
