Re: What are you currently playing?

108 odd hours into Yakuza 7 on the PS4. Change in combat is actually an interesting move, chapter 12's boss was a blast to fight (nice to finally have some challenge injected into the game!) and all the content surrounding the game really draws me in (hence why I've put 108 hours into the game). The...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

People complain about Terry as well though, not as much granted but some rather... uninformed people like to pretend that he's a nobody... that somehow managed to show up in games that span a good 30 years... Only issue I have with another FE is that they drag their feet over guys like Ridley or K R...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Oh, and before that I spent a bunch of time playing Sekiro, which again I loved loads. Managed to beat all the bosses/see all the endings. Awesome combat, great difficulty curve and some of the most fun bosses in a game I've played. Not quite as difficult as its made out to be either! Is the big sn...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Spent most of the weekend playing Yakuza 7. Game clock says 20+ hours already and its basically just starting to open up. The switch to turn based battles is an interesting one, and while I'm not quite sure what my thoughts on the combat are yet (I need to play way more) I do like how combat works. ...

Re: Castlevania

The PSP version of Rondo actually lets you unlock the original version of Rondo, and a slightly tweaked version of SOTN if you find them in game. SOTN has that craptacular new translation, that is still pretty bad, just not iconicly bad like the original PSOne version. But hey, the Maria boss fight ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

The last Smash Bros character wasn't quite who I wanted (I wanted Dante myself, Capcom fan and what not) but I really enjoy the other characters of the pass so I'm not exactly that bothered, he/she might play really fun so I won't really judge until they are out. My overall issue I supposes is yet a...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Yakuza 7 (import). The change in combat is interesting while the rest of the game is same old awesome Yakuza with a nice new protagonist and city. I've already put a good 20+ hours into what essentially equates to the intro of the game, and now things are opening up. Another 100+ hour game for sure!

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Picked a few games up on sale: Blazing Chrome River City Girls Ori and the Blind Forest Blaster Master Zero 2 Blasphemous So yeah, plenty to play (and I have Dead Cells to keep me company for the rest of the time). I've cleared the first four levels in Blazing Chrome and love it. Its a mix of Contra...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Anyway, back to Switch purchases - I grabbed Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Groove Coaster and with the left over coins, Katamari Damachi for £4. Yooka Laylee is..... Its seriously one of the best platformers I've played all year. Have you played New Super Lucky's Tale yet? It came out last ...

Re: Tiger Road - US versions?

1. Only US versions of the game? Not quite sure on that one, but port wise we got: Amiga Atari ST PC Engine (Japan only I think?) Amstrad CPC ZX Spectrum Commodore 64 MS Dos Granted several of the computer ports might well have been UK/Euro centric ports, I'm not sure I'm afraid. Either way, most of...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

The heck is this about Capcom not releasing games anymore? Resident Evil 7, Remake 2, Mega Man 11, Monster Hunter World, Devil May Cry 5 are all fantastic, and I personally loved Street Fighter 5 as well (now that its got much more content). Plus they've released tons of current gen ports (many of w...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Ditto, Shenmue 3 arrived for me as well. I've got a save right at the end of Shenmue 2 I need to finish (again) before starting it. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes for 3.

Re: Samurais & Ninjas

For Samurai's - I've always loved the Samurai Shodown series. But my pick for best would no doubt be both Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan and Ishin from Sega (PS3 and PS4 respectively). Amazing games pack with content, combat and lots of Yakuza action and silliness (and Mahjong). Ninja wise it'd have to be Shi...

What Remains of Edith Finch (read many good things about it) and Plague Tale: Innocence (story-driven puzzle-action game). Both for PS4.
Both are excellent. Only issue I had with Plague Tale was some encounter design at the end of the game, but all in all it was a refreshingly fun game.
