Re: What are you currently playing?

Working through Deadly Premonition on the Switch. Aside from the couple of crashes and way some of the side stories trigger, I'm loving replaying it. Its an odd, janky game with a great cast of characters. Looking forward to the sequel this week.

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Astro Bot-PSVR- censored me! What a game. It's inventive, whimsical and just downright Joyful. Each world gets more and more inventive with its design and bosses. Definitely the best game I've played in VR. Amazing stuff. I just finished this as well, will get the plat as well as its fairly easy. S...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

I found most of the SOR2 cast way more useless as they lacked the speed from 3's, the moves from 4's or the damage from 1's characters. Max is a bit of a beast though. I've found that you can utterly spam his dashing special move on the Easy mode (since it doesn't drain too much energy) and wipe ou...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Replayed Yakuza Kenzan. 90ish hours, hard mode, beat Amon finally... definitely see why he's often listed as the hardest Amon to beat. I've now beaten every version of him across every game (including his badass improved boss fight in 7's EX Hard mode). Now to take another break from Yakuza before a...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Most of those enemy attacks can just be dodged by moving up or down. Only one that causes me hassle sometimes is the taser cops due to the speed and reach of their grabs. But they aren't brutally damaging, and hitting them once gets them to drop the taser. Which is super handy for secrets or just st...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Had a nice Sega time with my Switch recently. After getting really bored with Animal Crossing (my fault for buying it, this happens every time I try playing any game in that series...) I grabbed Shinobi, GLOC and Streets of Rage 4. Shinobi I've finished several times already, its just a joy to repla...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

Argos are selling the standard physical release of 3/4/5 remastered collection on ebay for about £40 inc postage. I'm not sure how that stacks up against the digital versions (I don't know the prices) but here's a link if anybody is interested. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yakuza-Remastered-Collectio...

Re: OSSC + Eizo S2133

I don't have the monitor you have, but are you 100% sure the OSSC supports 5x on it? The best place to check is here: https://videogameperfection.com/forums/forum/ossc/ossc-discussion-support/ which is where I get all my OSSC info. My TV can only handle it at 2x which still produces a damn fine pict...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Don't try the optional final mission. Its something like 15 waves long and damn hard at the end. I've got 120 hours on Kiwami 2 and never finished that! I do love the gambling though bar the Haruka poker requirement - because the cheat items really don't help (people just fold) which made said requ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Also, playing some Fighting EX Layer and I'm loving how it plays. So nice to get a modern version of SF EX+@ (minus the SF characters) Is this still digital-only? As for me, nearing the end of Yakuza Kiwami 2. Once again, I've done everything I can but I won't be bothering with the gambling stuff o...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Ran through the remake of RE3 a few times already. Loved it, but do miss a couple of areas that were in the original. So... I replayed the original as well! Its even better than I remember it being. Started Yakuza 7 again, this time on EX Hard mode to see how it compares to the original difficulty (...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Worked on a few games this week clearing my backlog down a little bit more: Hyper Light Drifter - a nice short action game. Graphically it has a nice unique style, some great boss designs. Short and sweet. Sundered - another indie, though far longer by the looks of it. Its one of the few examples of...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I loved Urban Reign. Once the countering clicked for me I flew through the game. One of my favourite experiences on the PS2, I really need to replay it when I get the chance... Meanwhile I've been tidying up my backlog as Nioh 2 and Doom Eternal approaches... Finished Assault Android Cactus yesterda...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Kiwami 2, while I have some issues with omissions over the base 2 (like Club Adam being cut as a mini game...) and me preferring the old combat, I really love. Some of those long fights, especially toward the end are a blast. Game looks beautiful as well. Mini game wise, I quite like the change to ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

That's a bit of a bummer. I thought we might see another oddity or two after Motor Raid, maybe Rad Mobile, AB Cop, or my long-awaited OutRunners port.... oh well. Outrunners might have some licensing issues (I forget if they used real or fake cars in that one). I definitely want a port though, its ...
