Re: What are you currently playing?

I personally found CV4 one of the easier/less hard ones. Its fairly designed in my experience so while its not a push over, it doesn't have any points where the game really blocks your progress hard. Only points I think where it really ramps up is the final couple of stages but I think the game chec...

Re: PS4 Exclusive Recommendations?

Mini games in Yakuza could be a full game in themselves, I' must have spent 10s of hours in the arcade, Karaoke and Mahjong alone. That's probably part of the reason I put on average of 100 hours into each new game on release (and playing 4's remaster on the PS4 at the moment, I can see me very well...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I'm playing Rondo of Blood. Absolutely fantastic, though I'm somewhat concerned about how badly my reflexes are actually dwindling, given that I'm told this is an easy Castlevania clear.... I wouldn't say Rondo is super easy difficulty wise, its not the hardest CV game in the series compared to say...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Cuphead - an ideal way to smash up or throw your switch. Probably the Darksouls of the run n gun world. Beautiful though. Nah. Cuphead doesn't hold a candle to Contra Hard Corps (especially the PAL version) in terms of difficulty. Cuphead is actually pretty darn forgiving by comparison! Though I ca...

Re: Konami Anniversary Collections

In for Contra and Castlevania for sure, especially if we get some of the more obscure ports of Castlevania releases.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Almost done S ranking the missions in Devil May Cry 5. Loving it. Also been playing several ports of Street Fighter 2 - Gameboy, and Mega Drive, Switch and Snes ports of Championship/Turbo editions. Never realised how hilariously low the frame rate on the GB version was (its legit awful). But it doe...

Re: PS4 Exclusive Recommendations?

Kiwami is a remake of the first game. So a fine place to start. Technically from a modern standpoint 0 is the best place to start as they added/retooled a couple of bits in Kiwami to tie into 0, so parts of the plot make more sense but you'll hardly be lost playing them in either order. Plus almost ...

Re: PS4 Exclusive Recommendations?

The Yakuza games. Not really exclusive, there are pc versions and a couple of Wii u games(?) but you can't get them on Xbox yet. Infamous games are worth a punt and likely dirt cheap now. The knack games, the order and killzone can be picked up cheaply and all worth time. Technically there are only...

Re: Playstation Vita games discussion thread

Oh yeah, there's some hilarious Euro Jank and Japanese shelf filler games available on Vita, that said I still vastly prefer it to the 3DS library outside of Capcom's and Nintendo's output. Just last week I finished up playing Catherine Full Body on the Vita. Story began annoying me because a) Vince...

Re: Game series that got progressively better

Yakuza is a good example of a newer series. Loved the first game back in the day, but seeing how far the series has come with newer stuff like 0 and Judge Eyes is sure something. Combat, content, writing, gameplay, all improved in various ways.

Re: Playstation Vita games discussion thread

Keep in mind a lot of those will be Japan only VN games, or just really strange stuff (trust me on that one, I have like 4 Mahjong games on the platform at least). I think I read a stat that there are around 100 odd limited release games at least for Vita, or will be by end of life. Granted I don't ...

Re: Playstation Vita games discussion thread

I feel like I should buy a 4th Vita since they are stopping production in Japan. I have been getting back into Vita playing lately, I started my copy of Salt and Sanctuary this week, already glued to it, its a really good action RPG (2D Souls basically). I can see me playing this one for a long time...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Quite a decent sale on several games on the Switch currently. Finally picked up the spiritual successor to Super Meat Boy (The End is Nigh) and it seems pretty good so far. I've mainly been focusing on The Messenger this last week. Finished the game and unlocked the hidden weapon. Really enjoyed it,...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Finished the Claire A/Leon B run on RE2 this week. Loved it, definitely lived up to my expectations on what I wanted a remake of RE2 to be. Now to do my Leon A/Claire B run. Also put in some more hours and finished the story on Sega's Judge Eyes (Judgment) which again was fantastic, its not a Yakuza...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

TSA is an odd one for me. Sounds like I might enjoy it but the gameplay does look a tad repetitive and the reviews are all over the place. I'll wait a bit on that one I think. Meanwhile I've been playing New Super Mario Bros U which I'm really liking. I liked the Wii U port but this has the advantag...
