Re: Game Recommendations: MacIntosh

I have the same question. I just upgraded a Macintosh Centris 610 with SCSI2SD, RAM and VRAM updates. It's running OS 7.5.3 There's quite a few text adventure. I'm particularly keen to give Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, a go. I've also tried Star Wars Arcade, and on my 68040 it's very smooth, bu...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I was exactly the same. Before the ST, I had a Spectrum +2a and teetered on the edge of a Sam Coupe, before going for the STe. Then it was a Falcon or an A1200 and ended up going for the A1200. However, I always, always wanted to see the Falcon in action. It's very nice.

Sincalir Spectrum connecting to BBS

This post maybe in the wrong place. Apologies for that.

However, I want to get my newly refreshed Spectrum +3 onto a BBS. I have the serial adapter and a Wifi Modem but be damned if I can find any software to do the dialing.

Am I hoping for too much?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Mega STE restoration seems to have gone slightly askew, it's going to be hard to use the keyboard at that angle ;)

Cool project though. Never really looked at the Megas, though I did give serious consideration to upgrading from STE to Falcon.
You have to kind of lay on the desk.

Gaming on an Apple Quadra

Is this a thing? Any top tips? I've recently completed my restoration of a Atari Mega STe, so I have a hankering for something else now. I only remember, very vaguely, the Quadra being a development platform really. They're pretty cheap on eBay and the one I saw looked very interesting. Sporting a 6...

Re: Electron Game: Left to right racer?

Hi Mate, no wasn't that one. IIRC the one I'm thinking of was monochrome and the cars were F1 car themed (in profile)

Thanks for trying though :)

Re: Games genres that you just don't like

- Sport sims. I'd like to excuse my love of sensible soccer, and Brutal Sports.
- Whatever happened to RPG's after Final Fantasy 9. Cute JPRG's are fine, the newer ones suck.
- Multiplayer Online Games. I'm just not very sociable.

Re: Games that hold nostalgia for you

- Robocop on the Spectrum 128 largely because of the music. - Escape from Monster Manor and Novastorm on 3DO, largely because I walked 15miles to get them from a west midlands 3DO importer at the time. neither game was particularly astonishing, but I loved them none-the-less. - Jackal on the arcade....

Re: Your greatest gaming gamble

I haven't logged on to the forum in a while, so I looked for the 'like' button, but yes: A Brilliant game. Independence War on PC. Knew nothing about it, had never heard of it before, found it in a bargain bin in the main bit of Asda (not the entertainment section, it was up near the clothing and ch...

Electron Game: Left to right racer?

The first computer I laid my greasy mits on was an Electron. I borrowed it, as opposed to actually owned it. I vaguely remember a left-to-right racing game, that was monochrome? Any help identifying the game would be greatly received.

Ryu, Except on the 3DO version where he WASN'T wearing white with a red band. Blue and orange or some such blasphemy.
