I really think MJ tried to experiment with Different Genres of Music like Rock, New Jack Swing, Soul, RnB ect... To keep each Album fresh, Albums like Invincible didn't do so well because the Album was basically just full on Pop music and nothing else, MJ came out a winner with Experimenting imo.
