Re: Loading Commodore 64 games from a CD/MD?

Remember that the 64 pauses the datasette during loading at various times and a CD player etc wouldn't unless it was some sort of cassette interface emulator, so that could cause problems.

Re: BBC Domesday Reloaded

I only ever used one in the early 90s at the Birmingham Science Museum (RIP) which more often than not was switched off! ISTR it was in a special kiosk with only the trackball on display. Good to see it back online, as I remember the other web version from a few years ago which was more true to the ...

Re: CJ's Elephant Antics

It was one of the first games I got for my brand new C64 in about Sept 1993 out of Boots - must have been my fave game for ages. Never got very far in it, mind!

Re: Charity Shops

The mid 90's was the golden age of charity shops. I got near 100% of my Speccy and C64 games from them, as games stores had stopped selling them by then!

I found Amiga stuff never really filtered through and I never see anything in them these days, apart from the odd overpriced PS1 game.

Re: From the Forum question for issue 84

I don't remember getting any systems for xmas (reserved for birthdays!), but once in the mid 90's I had this massive box of Speccy games my dad had got from a charity shop, which was just excellent. Even Moley Christmas was in there! Another one I look back on with retro shaded glasses was Xmas 99 w...

Re: The Sega 32x... any recommendations?

I spent most of the summer of '99 playing Doom for the first time on a borrowed 32x, so I would start with that! (though it hasn't aged well)

Re: Floppy Disk Drive upgrade... Is it worth it ?

On my old PC I used to use Disk2FDI to copy Amiga disks directly onto a DOS disk in adf format, using two normal floppy drives in DOS. http://www.oldskool.org/disk2fdi/ Slightly OT bit.... For PC to Amiga - Some years later I had an A1200 HD and it was quite simple to transfer stuff (if you are good...

Re: 3D pinball for windows - space cadet..is it retro?

I say it is retro - it's part of a bigger pinball game called "Full Tilt! Pinball"

Re: C64 rare and valuable games

Mayhem in Monsterland of course commands a high price, very rare to see it on eBay! I wish I never sold my tape version of it in a job lot of all my 64 stuff back in the 90's.....

I used to watch Bad Influence at a my nan's house without a VCR - I just used to get right up to the screen and try and read it by staring very closely!

Re: Favourite Robocop game

Robocop 3D on the Amiga. I loved it as it was the closest thing I had to a FPS on my miggy and was the most impressive game I'd seen up till that point! The levels were nicely varied even though most of it was grey and on rails. Well worth tracking down! I liked Robocop on the Speccy but I could nev...

Did you enjoy seeing Pitfall brought into the 90s with 'The Mayan Adventure'? How much input did you have with it?

Rogue Trip - Vacation 2012.

I think I pumped more time into that on my PS1 than any other!
