Re: Retro Gamer Issue 207 - 40 Years of Pac-Man

Always loved Shadowman (and it's soundtrack), so certainly keen on that feature first

Space Invaders for me, purely from a sentimental point of view.

Re: Perfect Pac Man attempt - 15/04/2013

Wow astounding stuff, thats some good skill there. I often wondered if I could study patterns, practice and see how I would go. Not looking for perfect score, but interested on if I could make it to a kill screen. Don't think I'd have it in me!!!! Best of luck, I reckon with your determination, you'...

Re: Thinking about getting an snes, or perhaps an nes?

I was going to say, unless you are a hardcore collector with some cash to throw around, I'd suggest getting the NES and SNES minis. Both are great, and games can be added....but both have got a good collection on them to start with.

Re: Video game documentaries?

If you saw King of Kong, you may be interested in the 'response' documentary that takes a critical look at KoK - it's called the King of Con, and is critical of some of the behind the scenes stuff in KoK: https://youtu.be/WjAoDPTT6YU Thanks, will definitely take a look at that :) ***edited add on, ...

Re: From the Forum - Issue 207: Lockdown gaming

I've meant to, but aside from some quick goes on the arcade cab playing a few oldies like Time pilot, Qix etc, been playing little, more online courses and art- although starting some retro gaming related art.

My bro has been busy on Far cry 3 though

Re: Has anyone played the Megadrive Classics collection on Switch?

It's always a shame when compilation sets are done so badly. I love the mega collection on 360, when compilations are done well they are wonderful. It's just so annoying when they are shoddy, that goes for these hardware items that appear as well, attempting to cash in on passionate retro game fans ...

Re: Turbografx Mini/PC Engine Mini

These minis are terrific little machines, and make for brilliant little collectibles that are fun with a good little library of games on each.

Re: Coronavirus

Hope you guys are doing okay around the World. It has just started to affect NZ but we are now in our 5th day of lockdown, hopefully got it early before it spread across the country dramatically. Our lockdown is for four weeks, aside from health and supermarket essential services.

Re: The Star Wars thread

I do like the Marvel comics, just expands on a fair bit of the films and makes me enjoy them more. I didnt mind Rise of Skywalker at all, bit hectic at the start but watched it a few times since and enjoyed it more. As kiwimike says Last Jedi i didnt mind, Luke becoming a grumpy old hermit i could ...

Re: The Star Wars thread

ROS I just found overwhelming. Everything was thrown at the screen and it almost seemed like it was made on the fly to appease upset fans. I couldn't make head nor tail of it.

I will buy the DVD, and reassess. I liked TLJ, despite how it upset many. Rogue One and ESB are the favourites for me

Re: Coronavirus

It is really weird. It all seems OTT, although maybe I'll be proven wrong on that. The biggest worry is in the wallet, and the insanity of the supermarket clean outs. Of course, from a health POV I'm sure it is a genuine concern to the aged, or those with preexisting conditions that make them vulner...

Thanks for that, that might be worth a look, especially for us that want to hang onto the physical media as long as possible!

Re: GBA/GBA SP backlit screen mod

Yeah I should look into getting a R4. Got my DSL out again for an Advance Wars stint. No problems with my hinge either. I have seen plenty of second hand ones for sale both online and in Pawn shops with a cracked hinge, but I'm usually careful. Never say never of course! The beauty of the DSL as the...
