Re: Modern games hate?
I thought L4D2 was awful going by the demo. It was plain, sparse and limited. You couldn't really do anything bar shoot crap looking Zombies. I never played the original mind but I heard its all about the multiplayer. Yep, L4D ist really all about the multiplayer. I can imagine in SP it's just very...

Re: Modern games hate?
Mass Effect 2 is no RPG at all but is a good game in its own way (I personally found GoW utterly infuriating), but there's always Fallout 3, Oblivion, Dragon Age: Origins, Lost Odyssey, all of which seem competent enough to me. Yep, it's a good game in its own way, as the other games you mention - ...

Re: Modern games hate?
For me, I wouldn't call it hate. I really like modern games about as much as the classics. The only problem I have with them is that they try too hard to appeal to everyone. As an avid fan of rpgs this is the core problem. For example Mass Effect 2: Yeah, part 1 was already rpg-light, but instead of...

Re: MAG
It's a great game which is all about timework. I like it how this game is so unforgiving. Makes winning even more satisfying :) I just hope, that they don't release new maps as paid downloadable content as it would split up the community. And yep, there are concerns, that there won't be enough playe...

Re: New COD game have been confirmed!
Has Vietnam ever been fully realised in an FPS game like this before, as none spring to mind Vietcong on the PC was great. It's a shame that the console ports were utter censored. Then there was of course Men of Valor. It would've been a great game, if the AI wasn't that terrible. Your squadmates a...

Re: PS3 Vs XBox 360.....
Personally, the PS3 is the better console for myself. Simply put it has much more real exclusives. I can play most of the more interesting 360-exclusives on my PC with better graphics and better physics. There are exceptions like Crackdown 2, but when it'll be released I can turn on my 360 again aft...

Re: The Best Final Fantasy
Hard question. It's between VI and VII, both in terms of characters, setting and gameplay. I also like X despite some very cheesy moments.
VIII has a really good setting, too, but I never got into the junction and draw system. Just felt off for me...

Re: What are you currently playing?
If you loved the first one, you'll be blown away from this game. It's better in almost every aspect. Really my favourite game this year! @topic: Still playing Left 4 Dead 2 on PC, addicting as the first one. In terms of consoles I'm right in the middle of Assassin's Creed 2. Another sequel that's mu...

Re: *NEW* How much money spent and how many hours a week played
Usually around £100-150, but that's gonna change, soon. I quit my job and will go to university next year. Luckily my backlog is huge enough that I could easily survive all those studies
Over the week I usually play around 10 to 20 hours, with weekend usually be the peak.

@Stuart: Please take it in again
I really enjoy it and can only agree with Dizrythmia that it'd be good enough to be in there every month

Re: From the Forum question for issue 72
Baldur's Gate 1/2 and Planescape: Torment ; Especially Torment had writing that I wish it would be the standard for modern games. Instead RPGs get dumbed down more and more.

By the way, the same studio will do a remake of Joe & Mac after Toki is released. Looking forward to it, too. Loved the original!

Re: What are you currently playing?
I'm about 25 hours into Dragon Age on the PC. Really love the strategic battles and the rather good writing. The thing I don't really like are the subquests you can get on the various boards. It's too much like an MMORPG, because there isn't much story around them. In most other RPGs there are many ...
