Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Double cinema duty yesterday. Here's what I watched :- The War of The Planets of the Apes - more fun from those cuddly apes. They never learn, do they? Still has some superb technically motion capture acting from Andy Serkis as Caesar. It tries to riff on the Vietnam War, indeed, I think...

Re: do you buy physical music
Record shopping (as i still call cd shopping for some reason) is still one of the great joys in my life but sadly something i don't get to do too often anymore. I used to be able to go into the west end and spend the best part of the day drifting from record shop to shop, picking up weird and wonde...

Re: Doctor Who Community Buzzing With Rumours
My mind is still blown that they went ahead and did this. I wouldn't have minded if they had introduced some strong Time Lady characters - as I mentioned in the past, I think the Rani should have been brought back.

Re: Formula 1 2017 thread
Looks like I'm the only one keeping this thread going. Hurray for Bottas and his second win. Poor Lewis - he wasn't strong all weekend. Good result for Danny Boy and his shoe! Not so good for Max. Vettel still leads - I do hope the gap stays close between himself and Hamilton. Superb performance fro...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Spiderman : Homecoming - now I was a little skeptical of this - it is after all, the third reboot. Sort of think of it as "Ferris Bueller meets Spiderman" and you're some way there. Spiderman as played by Tom Hollander is more geeky than the Andrew Garfield version. He has to go back to school/univ...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Morgan - a synthetic human is grown from stem cells and a company's investigator comes to check to see whether it is sentient. Feels a lot like a lesser Ex Machina - but this time it's a synthetic human rather than an android. There's bits of "Frankenstein's Monster" in there and Bladerunner (i.e. ...

It's Austria this weekend. The hills are alive to the sound of hybrid electric turbo charged F1 engines!
Don't forget your predictions.

Re: do you buy phsical music
I mainly buy re-releases of classic albums now - on vinyl, but if there's a deluxe package with the CDs as well - then I get that. Mainly I tend to get them as gifts for my birthday and Xmas.

Ah, mid season breaks - yeah, they are a real nuisance. Hence, why I tend to binge watch seasons of shows.

Re: Books vs ebooks
At the moment, it's still the printed word for me. I think I might get a Kindle in the future.
I think charity shops sell old books really cheap nowadays. Hey - it might be the only way that you find a copy of "Fly Fishing by J. R. Hartley".

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Bad Boys - one of the few decent films that Michael Bay has made. Good chemistry from Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and Téa Leoni. I had seen it ages ago on Channel 4. Bad Boys 2 - hey, I thought that I would check out the sequel as well.Lacks the panache of the first one - but there's some quite goo...
