Good point. Although it was a fairly moderate upgrade I think - a few more bullets and more sprites in the Katerkiller?
Andrew did a similar thing with Uridium 2 on the A1200 but it was actually a much more significant improvement.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 144

So I open the mag on the 1942 piece and the page literally disintigrates in my hand (large chunk of the bottom-right corner comes off). What's going on with the paper quality chaps?

On the plus side there's a Making of Firetrack...

Rich H might be able to clear it up as he worked for BT/Firebird... you're right though should probably have made it clearer it was on two diff labels at full/budget price.

Re: Issue 131

Ah yes but only on the CBM 64. The Spectrum version was never re-released as a budget game. And the C64 version was never released as a full price title! :) According to Richard's Bird Sanctuary page it was also a Silverbird release on the Speccy... http://www.birdsanctuary.co.uk/gerryg/d.php Mev s...

Re: Issue 131

Enjoyed the Mev Dinc article but, I'm a stickler for ZX Spectrum facts, on Page 92 it states that 'Gerry the Germ Goes Body Poppin' was published as 'a budget game' on 'Firebird's Silver label'. It was not. These Silver games were sold for £1.99 and 'Gerry the Germ...' was released on their 'HOT' l...

Re: Questions for Jez 'Starglider & Star Fox' San

Did you or the team at any point regret the decision to include so many different playable aircraft in Birds of Prey?

After Star Fox, what did you think of rival space shooters like Wing Commander and others?

Re: Questions for Mev 'Vivid Image' Dinc

Cheers chaps... spoke to Mev at great length today... top bloke with some fabulous strories. Merman - cheers for the Hodja question I'd never have thought to ask about that and Mev's answer was rather revelatory about why it never saw the day, so that'll hopefully be in the main mag piece. I didn't ...

Questions for Mev 'Vivid Image' Dinc

I'll be speaking to Mev in the next couple of days and am looking for a few readers questions... Mev moved from his native Turkey to the UK in 1979, starting on freelance projects for various software houses including Firebird and Electric Dreams before setting up and managing his own company, Vivid...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 127

I do wish the 80s section was expanded upon more. Perhaps top 25 arcade machines etc or just generally more on the 80s arcade scene agreed, is basically just 80-83 for the vast majority of the article, Defender only just scraped into the 1980's and how the likes of Bezerk, Wizard Of Wor, Battlezone...

Enjoyed the arcade article. A lot there but yes I do wish the 80s section was expanded upon more. Perhaps top 25 arcade machines etc or just generally more on the 80s arcade scene. I'm sure many of us have MAME on our computers/handhelds etc. would love much more arcade stuff in the mag in the futu...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 127

Just had a quick flick through, the arcade stuff looks lovely, and I'm looking forward to reading the Jack the Nipper and Fairlight features. Did notice Zero Gunner in the Unconverted though... I'm sure I own the Dreamcast version ;] That'd be the excellent Zero Gunner 2! The original isn't quite a...
