World of Warcraft.
I got a character to 70 and raided a bit. Now waiting for Lich King. Also getting into more hands-off games (see: http://www.retrogamer.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11969) to keep my entertained while I work.

As for Uplink , there are certain e-mails that come to you when you reach certain parts of the game - so if you walk away you might get an e-mail by the time you get back. I don't think m/any of them have quick deadlines, but maybe. If you're mentioning Anchorhead then you can include every text ad...

Although all bears have teeth, games have taught me that not all bears are likely to drop the required teeth for the quest hand in. When I die I am likely to spawn at my house, the hospital or, in ghost form, at a graveyard where I will need to run back to my corpse. Games have also taught me that t...

The fire and forget games of today and yesterday.
Greetings, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some games which didn't require the player to be constantly active. The types of games where one could let the game effectively play itself for a period of time, and then jump in at various points. The types of games, for example, would be the man...

I remember downloading the demo (took me a long, long time) and it just blew me away. Everything impressed me and I spent ages just exploring the bit where you select the difficulty level. As I played through Episode 1 though I got bored of it, though the boss fight was impressive. I deleted the dem...

Given my Sins of a Solar Empire addiction, I've decided to give GalCiv II a go. It's by the same developer, Stardock. I borrowed a copy from a friend and I have to say it's not quite hitting the right notes with me. It's one of those games that's seemingly universally loved, but I just can't get int...

Yeah, I downloaded the demo of Sins. Very, very nice. I'll definitely be purchasing it next week. I could get it off Stardock but with that kind of thing I like to have a manual. I bought Sins and did think it was quite good, but the games take such a bloody long time to finish. I like my real-time...

I was in something of Half-Life mode over the weekend. Shortly after completing Half-Life 2, then I went through and completed Episode 1 twice (2nd time around with the commentry), and Lost Coast (again, twice). I went back to have another go at Half-Life 1. Played that for a little bit, and then I ...

Still feel that this over stepped the mark but as i the only one perhaps i a bit oversensitive on this one!! I wouldn't go so far as to apologise. You're entitled to have your say. I've not bought the magazine in awhile so I h...

Some time before GTA 3 there was a game which was much like the later Rockstar hit. Should be released for the PC and looked absolutely stunning for the time. You played as kind of a mercenary in a nearfuture metropolis. I can't recall its name, but I was really excited about it. But it was canned ...
