Antstream - Now Live on Kickstarter!

So some of you will have read a bit about Antstream in Retrogamer - we're launching the world's first (and probably only) streaming subscription platform for retro games. If you've ever thought it would be cool to have an ever-growing library of fully licensed, classic retro games spanning the 70s t...

Re: Cellphone Game Archiving (J2ME, N-Gage and others)

Just found that there are actually some resources for the Elder Scrolls J2ME games, at least, on Mobygames and elsewhere: https://www.mobygames.com/game/elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion_ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_Travels When I first found them (because I only saw them on wares sites ...

Re: Cellphone Game Archiving (J2ME, N-Gage and others)

It's an interesting topic. I get the impression these games weren't as popular over here in the UK as they were in other parts of the world. At least, I never saw them sold/ marketed over here. I had some of the early Nokia smartphones around 10 -15 years ago before I switched to Android, pretty sur...

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

The ST version came out a year after the Amiga version in 1990. http://amr.abime.net/amr_popup_picture.php?src=st_amiga_format/magscans/staf09_1989_03/056.jpg&c=69220&n=1&filesize=308033 You may well have seen this article, although it was the ST that was connected to the Laserdisc player not an Am...

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

I have not found this type in version you are speaking of. The reason I didn't call the Amiga version a proper version is because it was not complete. I seem to recall reading only 40% of the game was included in the original Amiga release. The mega CD version was complete and proper aside from the...

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

Well ST version was released at the same time as the Amiga. I would argue the Philips CD-i was the first proper home port, given it came out at the same time as the Mega CD version but was actually arcade perfect. The ST version came out a year after the Amiga version in 1990. You may very well be ...

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

Has Retro Gamer ever done an in-depth look at all the different home ports/adaptions of Dragons Lair, its sequels and other connected laser disc games? It's an article I'd love to see - firstly because so many different versions were released from everything to the ZX Spectrum to CDi. I've always f...

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

like I also remember reading, many many years ago, in Amiga Format, I think, about a CDTV version where you typed commands in (like "grab sword", I guess) rather than entered joystick directions. Apparently the action froze at the moments where you had to make a decision, giving you a certain amoun...

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

There's another Dragon's Lair 3, too - The Curse of Mordread , which was a home computer version. Sort of like Escape from Singe's Castle, it used unused footage that hadn't appeared in the home versions of Time Warp.

Re: Dragon''s Lair home conversions

The Amiga had a drawbridge scene with a tentacled monster that wasn’t on the arcade. 😧 That's interesting, didn't know that. Strange that they would be adding more scenes, considering they chopped half of the scenes from the arcade version and used them to make the Escape from Singe's Castle home c...
