It could be the old Watford floppy interface causing the trouble... do you see any mention of Watford on the screen?

Well, Magnum, I know what you're thinking - and you're right! :D

In all honesty, Archies should be fairly cheap to pick up. If you have a choice go for an A5000.

Would that actually work... it needs a few coders from a format to make things interesting for a start, i'm not sure some of the platforms have that many coders present... I'd like to see it too ..... but I don't think it'll actually work out - not everyone is in to that sort of thing. Well, i susp...

Gameswise is there any point in buying an Archimedes? Bare in mind I already have a BBC Master? Well, there were a lot of great exclusives on the Archie (just check out any Archie emulation site to see what I mean!), but it all depends on how much you can get one for :) I dont know anything about t...

Ok, like I said, I have an Acorn Archimedes A5000. I can only use the VGA out tho - no 15kHz. Will it work? Can I somehow go Archie disk image to floppy on a PC and get it to the Archimedes? How would I do that? Tnx. blakespot Yup, so long as you have a 3.5" floppy for your PC - I haven't seen one ...

One extra I wasnt expecting was a fully boxed AMX Mouse. Comes with loads of graphic software and ROM chip. Cant find head nor hair of it on ebay so Im assuming this is a pretty rare finding? Here's hoping the printer didn't leak on the good stuff! (bin it though, you'll never want to use it!) The ...

I was reading a piece the other day about parents now being as (for want of a better phrase) 'up to date' as their kids. We're more likely to shop at the same shops, listen to the same sort of music and generally enjoy the same sorts of things as our kids. However, it postulated that this might not...

However, as it is essentially just a paged area of memory, it could be used to expand the system RAM (which I think is what they did in the BBC B+ and possibly on the Tube(?)). Actually sideways RAM is used more for storing ROM images and/or data. It saves using the system RAM and enables more comp...

Re: Does this photo appeal to anyone here?

[ How do you cycle down that path without knocking your head on the trees? It looks tighter than the second to last level in Rocket Raid! It's fast and swoopy singletrack and it opens out to a great (but too short)little descent onto boring double track. I was back there tonight to venture a bit fu...

The best version I ever played was on the Archimedes, without doubt. If it wasn't for emulation, I'd suggest buying an Archimedes solely for playing it! The second best was on the BBC Master, and the third best was the original Beeb version. The fouth best was Elite on the PC. I've played at lot of ...
