Re: Questions for Mark 'Kick Off' Greenshields

Right, I spoke to Mark last week so sorry TheAlex - which is a pity as you seem to really know stuff about some of his games!!! Do post a question next time I do an interview and I'll really try to get you in. Cheers everyone who posted questions before I did interview - have managed to one in from ...

Questions for Mark 'Kick Off' Greenshields

Hope you're all doing well. My next Desert Island Disks castaway has been making games since the early 80s and it's an entertaining and (by his own admission) mixed bag of good and bad stuff! Mark is still in the industry, now based in Orlando making games, so hope you can find time to post a questi...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 190

Whilst I’m certainly no prude when it comes to language, there are at least three F bombs dropped in this issue. Is there any reason for this? Or would said articles containing them not have been the same with them taken out? I feel I am qualified to answer this as I'm fairly confident two of those...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 190

This is the first issue in ages where i've flicked through it and nothing has jumped out at me as a must read. I'll still enjoy reading it, but not Dog's Life which is really not something I'd expect to find in RG. Started reading this now and I have to say I really enjoyed the Tony Takoushi interv...

Questions for Rebecca 'Bard's Tale' Heineman

Hello all - my first interviewee of 2019 has quite the tale. Rebecca has been in the business since the early 80s, helping to found Interplay and has had stints at EA and Ubisoft among many others. She's been involved in a huge number of games and I've done a 'Selected timeline' below but look at he...

Re: Questions for Tony 'Big K' Takoushi

Ha! MrJenzie, I'll do you a deal - submit a question for my next interviewee and I promise I will ask yours first and definitely include the answer in the mag. Cue you thinking 'right, I think I'll ask them about their most athletic sexual encounter'....

Folks, the interview with Tony is all done and will be in RG190. Cheers for all your questions and MrJenzie, I'm so sorry but we ran out of room for yours, but here it is as a little thank you... [Tony Takoushi] Hmm…my first games mag….hard to recall exactly…probably games section in a mag in a news...

The C16 doesn't get much love these days. Was there any specific reasons why he chose the platform to develop on?
Yes, I was thinking this too! Will definitely ask him - and of course everyone is wise in retrospect... I kind of hope he says he thought the machine was going to be HUGE!

Questions for Tony 'Big K' Takoushi

Hello all - I've got an interesting chap lined up for an interview next, who's had his hand in both games journalism and games development. You may recognise Tony's name if you read videogame mags back in the 80s, which is where I remember him from, but he's stayed in the games biz since then and in...

He sounds an interesting bloke Merman! Here is a pair from me... The BBC Micro was clearly a great computer (I often hear old coders banging on about how you could mix BASIC with machine code really easily and hence it was great for learning to code) but it's high price meant it never quite went mas...
