The spectrum 128K models have a 48K mode in built that makes it work almost exactly like an original 48K Spectrum. There are compatiblilty issues, but 98% of games work on the Spectrum Plus 2. The most compatible version is the original (and rarest) 128K Spectrum released just before Sugar bought S...

Hello there, Do Spectrum 128k models emulate 16k and 48k models or are there any issues? I know in native mode you can type in with separate keys and more RAM is available to the user. How does 128k model with AY sound chip emulate beeper from older models? Talking about Amstrad CPC systems... By re...

This really is a heated wee discussion innit? Facts are the C64 lacks a good palette of colors, and in a few instances of games EXPLICITY designed around the A8's hardware appears inferior... However for the other 95% of the games the C64 is much more suited, and results in games that are very visu...

I don't think so. In which department should C64 beat Atari? Be real, please. If I had to choose between other retro 8-bit computer, it would be Enterprise (best in all departments), Commodore Plus/4 (colors and RAM usage) or Coco3 (fast CPU). Atari has everything C64 has, or even better! enterpris...

By 1985 both machines were dodo's - the 16bit computers had arrived sTeVE do you know how many times commodore WANTED to stop producing c64s? but the crowd wanted it and it made serious money. it lasted till like 92-93? doesnt sounds like a dodo in 85. also you largely ignore that how many ppl had ...

A8 has definitely great display and sound, you cannot change the facts. I'm glad to see you never ever say the a8 was better in gfx or sound. this can mean only one thing :) What can that mean? That A8 has superior visual look and already great POKEY sound can be expanded with emulating SID sound. ...

sorry but you must proove me wrong thats not a personal opinion but prooven statements. as long you fail, my statement stays: the c64 is overall better, as its better in more departments. the a8 competes well this means inferior. -> you have just admitted the a8 has poorer gfx and sound. Hmm, that is your personal opinion. C64 is not better in all departments. In those, like graphics and sound, A8 competes very well, but there are other departments where A8 beats C64 hands down. The stock C64 disk drive is VERY slow, on the other had, stock 1050 or even 810 disk drives work very sta...
