Re: PS3 - retro??

I remember the threads asking if the PS1 was retro yet  At that time I had definite ideas of what was and wasn't 'RETRO.' Now its all a bit Meeeh... If you want it to be retro then why not  As far as what this thread is actually about goes, I've seen a trend of much more PS3 games going f...

Re: Which arcade game were you best at

Probably Bomb Jack, then phoenix. I must have put a lot of coins in those machines over the years. I relatively recently attended an event that had original 1980 arcade cabinets there, and after one go on Space Invaders I got a massively higher high score that the previous one. Although this has hap...

Re: This is the worst game I've ever played

Well can I give two? Well I'm going to, but I will explain... The game I was most disappointed with was Rampage for the 8bit Atari series. This game was obviously just quickly thrown together, and could have been so much better. And the cost of 8Bit disks wasn't cheep at that time ether! So this is ...

Re: Collectors needed

Wouldn't call it a collection but I've still got loads of old magazines pretty much all C&VG from the eighties, Atari User and Page Six, plus a lot of Crash and you're Sinclair, as well as some early commodore stuff and a few less know ones, all UK mags. I also had a lot of early PC gamer mags, but ...

Re: What System would you like a 'Classic' console for?

Something that you could actually run or load an operating system into would be good. ST, Amiga, early PC or Cpm based machines.

Re: What System would you like a 'Classic' console for?

Surely there is a surplus of old Crt TV screens out there gathering dust in a warehouse somewhere, that are suitable for being convert to vector displays.

We can only hope

Actually a new Vectrex type consol is about the only one I would pay around a hundred or more £££ for

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

I would like it if they surprised us and stuck a couple of never before released games on it. Like 'Thrill kill'? ... i am going to respond with the rest by asking you all if you would also welcome a PS2 Classic in the future... My answer would be exactly the same as for the PlayStation/PS1. I stil...

Re: What System would you like a 'Classic' console for?

... it's not really the sort of system that you could make much smaller and cheaper these days... True, and there wouldn't be any point without the vector graphics screen. But how good would it be to have a vectrex-alike that had all the release games, the best and rarest of the homebrew, and the a...

I did feel a little bit like that as well with the PlayStation, but strangely not with the Dreamcast, which was a whole generation younger?!

Re: Backwards Compatability

Don't get me wrong.I do see the point of the online-store based option. And do have some games for older systems, that I've bought this way. But is it really a 'compatible' system? I'd say my original 60Gb PS3 was (more or less) compatable with my PS2, e.g. I could put PS2 or PlayStation games in th...
