Re: The New gen thread PS5/XBOXsX (feat PONG)
I have seen on Facebook market place that scalpers are lowering there prices, Yeh, they seem to be doing that on ebay as well. I still wouldn't buy one from a scalper though, I'm happy to wait untill you can just buy one RRP if it's next year that's fine there will be more stuff out for it by then!

Re: Is it me or are computers boring these days?
I agree that bog standard Windows PCs are fairly boring, unless you go left field and do something more interesting with them. But there are definitely 'Computing Devices' out there that are potentially much less boring, Raspberry pi, Orange Pi and the other 'clones', Arduinos', and many (many, many...

Re: Looking for a bit of advice from Vectrex players
Trapped was designed as a small (proof-of-concept) timed game based on the maze engine I wrote it was supposed to be more of a 'chiller' than a shooter, with the possibility of meeting the enemy at any time causing the apprehension. The main game I was thinking about creating would be at least ten t...

Re: Looking for a bit of advice from Vectrex players
Thanks Antiriad2097, I had already decided to make a one-off cartridge version of the 'Trapped' game basically just to see what was involved in making the cartridge, box, and overlay. 'Trapped' was just a simple proof of concept for the game I intend to make, which would need to use some sort of sav...

Looking for a bit of advice from Vectrex players
Hello, I'm looking for a bit of advice from any Vectrex players out there. I've recently made cartridge versions of my 'Circus Vectrex' and 'Trapped' games, both of which are older games and have had BINs released of previous versions, and also appear on the (as of writing this) latest version of Se...

Probably going to get an Xbox series S, primarily for emulation, once the scalping calms down and you can actually buy them at RRP.

Re: You know what's weird?
I played with making a couple of games on the Pico 8 last year, both unfinished but I really liked the limitations! I know that's a bit of a weird thing to say, but even programming in LUA it still felt like I was back programming my VIC 20 or Atari 800XL. But with a built in graphics and level desi...

Re: what is your rarest retro item/or most favourite retro item?
I've no idea, but I've got a lot of stuff that goes for (or at least the asking price is) stupid money on Ebay! Not least of which is my Vectrex, and my SUN Spark 10 (not really a gaming machine that one though). I suppose the rarest things I have just now are 'Circus Vectrex' and 'Trapped' cartridg...

'Journey' and 'A Short Hike' on the PC, two laidback chillout games.
Was also playing the first 'Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain' game again, managed to make it work on Windows 10

Re: What's the most iconic retro game that's actually rubbish?
Back then, there was a whole lot of time where there was nothing else to do BUT read about the game. Reading 'about' games, yes. I did that a lot back then. Reading about 'how to play a game,' not so much. I think the first time i did that was for Ultima IV on the PC! Then it was more common to jus...

Mercenary, I would like to see a solid 3D version with animated vehicles etc.
Space Rogue, with improved interior RPG mechanics and enhanced space flight graphics, along with proper Arcade style game-play for the playable in-game arcade machines.

Re: What's the most iconic retro game that's actually rubbish?
OK, I'm going to get totally slammed for this but... Paradroid for the C64. It was interesting for a few plays, but hardly the gaming gold it was made out to be. But that's just my opinion ;) PS, I wonder how many people who say ET was 'absolute rubbish,' and 'the worst game ever' have actually play...
