Re: Anyone know this arcade game from mid 80s?

That sounds like Gladiator or Great something as elite called the Computer versions Guy in blue armour with a sword and shield deflecting fireballs weapons and killing bats and and what not. You fought equally large bosses starting with a weedy guy, then an Amazon Lady in pink armour, followed by a...

Re: Which arcade game were you best at

Power Spikes Volleyball: I used to work opposite a bowling alley that had a few arcade games that they rotated every few months. A couple of us used to go over on our lunch break & play whatever they had. One day I saw this volleyball game (complete with Chinese language) & decided to give it a go, ...

Re: Controversial magazine Reviews/Scores

Several years ago I used to write reviews for a European based website. One of the XBLA games that I reviewed I gave a pretty poor score as the game was pants. I submitted the review to the website editor and was asked if i could add a few nicer comments and up my overall score for the game as 'The ...

Re: Games that hold nostalgia for you

For me it has to be Wriggler on the ZX Spectrum. I received the 10 Computer Hits tape along with my 48k+ for Christmas when I was a kid and was desperate to play Harrier Attack however with it all being new to me I couldn't grasp how to get to that game on the tape without loading Wriggler (which so...

Re: What sticks in your mind over the years.

Owning multiple hand held electronic games until my mum worked hours upon hours to get enough money to buy me a Spectrum 48k+ for Christmas and also received a few other games from relatives to start me off. Memorable games that Christmas included: 10 Computer Hits (I Loved Wriggler!), A budget comp...

Re: Happy Birthday MAME 20 today.

I got given a MAME disc for my original Xbox several years ago and spent hours playing through the classics before the console got relegated to the loft in the upgrade to the 360. Really miss this & have been desperate to play some MAME recently as I love the old arcade games.....Happy Birthday MAME...

Re: Retro arcade soccer game?

Yes, definitely Hat Trick Hero, which is more commonly known as Football Champ or Euro Football Champ. I owed the JAMMA board for some time.. Great game, very much the "Ready to Rumble" of Football Sims where they suspend certain elements of reality in order to make a more entertaining game. The fo...

Completely fluked finding this one so quickly. Went to the Handheld Museum and started looking at CGL games first since they marketed some of my favourites. Hopefully it's the right one.

Thank you so much.....Thats the one :D

Re: Help identifying a handheld game from 1980's

Thanks for that but it wasn't either of those.

As I say it was a space shuttle. I think my mum may have got it from one of those toy parties that were common in the 80's.

Help identifying a handheld game from 1980's

Hi all, hoping you guys can help..... I used to have a big collection of the handheld electronic games back in the 1980's and there is one that I received for Christmas one year that I cannot for the life of me find anywhere. It was a large game in the shape of a white space shuttle and took around ...

Re: Real Ale Drinkers or Lagerboys?

It's been a few weeks of real ale festivals for me. Firstly Doncaster, then Scarborough and last week Sheffield.

Being one of the organisers of the Hull real ale festival I justified my travels as being ' for research purposes'

Re: Your Real Names

I'm a Mark although it was never intended to be.

I was to be called Andrew with the middle name of Robert however thankfully my Gran pointed out to my parents that as my surname begins with S my initials would have spelt ARS!!

With that in mind i'm pretty happy to be a Mark Andrew :D

Re: What games did you ALMOST buy this week?

I almost bought a PS4 on Black Friday last year. I've not been as much into gaming over the last couple of years but thought maybe it was time to see if this gen could reignite my interest. I was waiting in the queue in Game 2 place from the front then thought....What am I doing? Do I really want th...
