Re: What hardware doesn't get enough love?

Vic 20 - I got one recently and it's a great machine. Very lovable.
ZX81 - we don't see this much
Atari 400/800 - ditto
Oric - hasn't been seen in a while

PS - I haven't read the 4 most recent issues of rg so apologies if there's, say, a 30 page feature on the ZX81 in the most recent issue.

Re: Losing touch with modern gaming - anyone in this boat?

I suppose it depends on whether you are asking if it is modern games or modern gaming that people are tiring of. The way I see it, there's quite a big difference. Modern games, yes, I lost touch with them years ago. Probably around the time of the Playstation when Namco Museum got released I reconne...

Re: 3DS Games discussion/Collecting thread

I was a bawhair away from getting a 3DS XL bundle yesterday for £160. One day later, Tesco have dropped the price on the console alone to £119, and with the use of a new customers voucher I've just bought myself a 3DS XL for £109! Nicely! http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/nintendo-3ds-xl-tesco-direct...

Re: "wii u dead already"

I don't get all this wii u bashing. Really, I don't. I'm not what you'd call a hardcore gamer, not any more - being 40 this year and with 2 small kids I just don't have the time. But the wii u absolutely hits all the right buttons for me. The tablet screen - for the simple reason it's not the tv - i...

RE4 on PS2 is the one I'm playing through right now. It's the first game in years that I am making the time to play through. Now that I've got two small children, I've only been playing games in short bursts and mainly arcade stuff like Pacman where I can get a quick fix. But RE4 has sucked me in. I...

Think you mean "Don't Buy This" by Firebird - http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0011245&loadpics=3[/quote] That's the one! I suppose being deliberately bad* means it shouldn't be featured in Retro Shamer. It's the games that sit alongside all the other games on the shelf pretending th...

An excellent issue, thanks. I recently got a GP32 off e-bay (recommended by Retro Gamer quite a few issues ago), so I've been playing the Megadrive version of Outrun which is excellent in my opinion. Also I've been using MAME to play Donkey Kong, which I was very familiar with anyway, being a favour...

The following two links talk about the reset problem, and the fix works—at least for some time (at which point, you have to open the thing up and do the fix again). It really is a shoddy console from a build standpoint. Note: make sure you bend the pins in the right direction, and don't use too m...

Thanks for another good issue. Congratulations on reaching the 50th Retro Gamer. Hope there are many more to come. It's the only magazine I subscribe to. I've just moved house and it had been delivered to my old house where the new owners were always out. It was agony knocking on the door for two we...

Thanks again for another fantastic issue. I'm a reader / subscriber since the relaunch and this is the best issue yet. Great cover. And as somebody else has mentioned I think the Matthew Smith article is the best Retro Gamer has published.

You have to ask, is he... you know... is he all right?

I'd like a Neo Geo.

Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Saturn.

And the most expensive arcade cabinet ever made so I could sell it and buy a game for the Neo Geo.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I used one called BeebEm which came with Elite as one of the pre-loaded games. I got it running straight away with no problems at all and I'm pretty inept when it comes to PC's. I haven't tried a BBC emulater for 4 or 5 years as last time I had a crack at it, it seem...
