Re: What am I missing?
Name a few and we can try them out. Then we can decide if you're right or wrong! I'm trying to recall some "platform" games with similar gameplay to Manic Miner, but without much luck. Most games were shoot-em-ups and/or clones of arcade games. In any case, I've come up with a few examples o...

Re: How to replace a SNES cartridge battery - advice needed
Deleting save files will not conserve battery power. The battery powers the SRAM regardless of its contents.Jeremiah Jones wrote:What's a bummer is a game like Super Mario RPG, which doesn't allow you to delete save files, and thereby conserve battery power.

Re: What am I missing?
I wouldn't compare Manic Miner with SMB. MM released in '83 and SMB released in 87. Platformers on 8 bit machines they both may be but they're so far apart chronologically they feel like they're from different generations. Atari had the ST out before '87 and Commodore just about had the Amiga on th...

Re: What am I missing?
I'd hate to say it, but most were quite frankly rubbish. Maybe it was because the initial wow factor of the graphics and sound now seem old hat and the gameplay was exposed for what it was - shallow. I also found the game play was now tired, probably due to having experienced it all before. The old...

What am I missing?
Let me lay some background; I owned a TRS-80 in the day, before transitioning to Coco & Amiga before the PC. And whilst I never owned an 8/16-bit console back in the day, I've since collected most of the mainstream ones, and played my fair share of 8-bit arcade games as well. I've read some 57 issue...

I'm pretty sure it was an article on Castlevania that was particularly difficult to read - Issue #36 that would've been.

TRS-80 Model I/III/4?
I'm currently reading issue 39 (yes, I'm behind, but I have read *every* issue from #3 quite literally cover-to-cover) and have just picked up issue #47 from my newsagent - but I'm still waiting for the in-depth 12-page article on the TRS-80 Model I/III/4 and the great games they had!?! I appreciate...

Hard to read/see?
Does anyone else find some of the colour schemes used for printing in the magazine difficult to read? In particular, some of the white-on-black articles are especially poor quality and I had a difficult time reading them. It's perhaps a quality control issue because I recall 1 article was terrible o...
