I remember Granny's Garden, my brother's teacher copied it for us. Although I never saw Pod running I remember reading about it in the Beeb mags.

Shouldn't that be Nimbi? Or were your machines "Nimbius"?

Thanks for going into more detail fredghostmaster - we all have our own view of what we would like to see in RG and to some extent I agree with you - I'd like to see more focus on the 8 bits and I'm not interested in Japanese-only consoles/games. However I disagree with psj, why wouldn't you like to...

Re:

It's quite simple. Anything up to and including 8 bit is retro. Amiga and Atari ST are not retro. And if Retro Gamer doesn't stop covering obscure SNES & Megadrive games then I'm afraid it will have lost a customer. Given that there is no concrete definition of "Retro" you are welcome to your opini...

Re:

If you like, PES is the equivelent of Kick Off 2, while FIFA is the equivelent of Sensible Soccer. I've made that comparison before, though I like SWOS and I can't get on with FIFA. And I agree that Konami should rest PES for a year between each update in order to make a real difference to the game...

Re:

I never played Player Manager but from your description of the game it may be worth a look... I'll keep an eye on eBay methinks (I assume we're talking Amiga here? Will it work on a 600?) Once you had a fast centre forward it was brilliant whizzing through scoring goals, if you quickly did down/up ...

Re:

Did you ever play Player Manager ? Loved that game and played it forever ! My player was i think 62 (had to keep him playing otherwise you were a manager) and had the speed of a snail but an excellent game. I was the reverse of you, got into Kick Off II so much , so did my friends, tried Sensi but ...

Re:

Pap, poo, pants, or just plain censored. Whichever word you choose to apply to Kick Off 2 it still has the same meaning... Kick Off 2 was massively over hyped and an awfully boring funless game, where SWOS was magnificent and still hasn't been bettered in ten years of newer footballing gaming. "Kic...

Nope. Kick Off 2 was pap. Fact. If "pap" is defined as "the best ST/Amiga football game" then you are correct. Pap, poo, pants, or just plain censored. For me it would have to be Kick Off 2. It was pile of poo. SWOS kicked it's arse every time!

Oh no what have I done......
It's quite simple - you've got your games mixed up

The ability to change teams names does not a great footy game make.

It's either the Sega Saturn or the X-Box. Bought the Saturn of a mate for 50 quid with Night's, Sega Rally, Daytona USA, Virtua Racing, Panzer Dragoon, Euro 96 and Virtua Fighter 2, played on it once and it's been in it's box ever since. Bought the X-Box from a guy at work for 60 quid with a few ga...

Yes. And?
Well plenty of old games were written by one or two people and had bugs in.
I defy you to point at any game and tell me it has no bugs.
